New Age Outlaw
Got home from work today to find Cocky, our old Galah, looking very weak and having had a significant bleed from a lump on his leg. He didn't want to eat, or talk or even whistle his favourite tune. Being that Cocky was (as far as we can work out) in his late 30's or early 40's, we knew that the time had come for him to cross the bridge so we took him to the vet. He'd been with us for a long time, since OH's grandmother passed (he was hers originally and we took him in after she died). Since he was a little boy OH had known this fellow...it is so hard looking at his empty cage sitting in the corner, and knowing I'll never hear that demanding "hello Cocky"again. I'm sure his little mate Stan the rosella is waiting for him at the bridge. Ruby red bird will miss him, as will we all...
