Poor Little Jasmine Admitted To Vets...

Hi all,

After a trip to Cenntenial park on Sunday, little Jasmine started having diarrhea and vomitting the following day. Took her to the vets yesterday and she was given an anti-inflammatory and something to settle her.

This morning I fed her bland food, after 24 hours of nothing except water, and she vommited it and then had a another loose stool with blood!

Took her to the vets again this morning and had to admit her for three days. Vet said there could be a few possibilities - hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, blockage or pancreatitis....

Has anyone had similar symptoms with their dogs and how did they recover?

Thanks

Alan.

She is 5 months old, and is fully uptodate with vaccines and worming...

We are a bit stressed as she is still a baby - vet said blood work came back clean. Based on how she responds to food and water in the morning i.e. if she does not vomit then it will rule out a blockage and then its a bad case of HGE.

Fingers crossed she will be alot better in 24 hours.

did she drink any of the pond water?

One of my dogs had something similar after drinking water at Lake Burley Griffith when we lived in Canberra. Took a few doses of antibiotics and a couple of weeks but she became well again. She was prone to tummy ailments though and never had a problem at Lake Burley Griffith before, I think it was just where we were.

Hope your pup gets better soon!
