The fur on Dolly's back and legs is lifted in a pattern like hives and she is biting at it quite agitatedly. It is worst around the base of her tail and over her haunch muscles. Is there anything I can do to soothe it for her?

i hear what yr sayin ,

i have a girl who has had every treatment possible i think for skin allergies, she has had the lumps you speak several times ,plus bad feet and nearly scratching her teats off!!! she has been on long term antibotics /large doses of phernergan food trails /mite tests etc etc etc , but more recently i ve decided to go ny own way and no longer feed her raw chicken and this has helped BUT after all the major expence ,ive found a $10 bottle of pintarcil and QV BATH OIL have helped her SOMUCH she is off the 75mg of phernergan a day, all it takes is a nice luke warm 10 min if possible , soak in a largish tub of pintarcil 1 day and a soak in QV 2/3 days later , and repeat as needed , i also give her 30mls of either linseed /flaxseed oil every day and achidoplius,

all the best

antihistamine (polaremine or phenergan)

quit itch/betadine to rinse

if its really severe or the face is swollen go to the vet and get an antihistamine shot...works alot faster. Any chance of being bitten by ants or a bee???

Xena broke out in huge bumpy hives on her back when she got bitten by an insect...most likely bee

Taz gets hives on his belly from grass/pollen
