Reddii
I've never thought so much about it until I saw someone comment on it the other day. My little girl (16 month BC) frequently has a glazed or mucous (sp?) coating on her stools. They are almost always well formed and fairly small and dry out very quickly, but wondering if the glazed thing is a problem or something I should be looking in to. Thanks in advance. peibe
My male Pei poos the same I was told it means they have healthy poos and you are feeding them right Read it on an internet site, wish I could remember which one
Stitch
Sorry to disagree but I have found that mucousy poos usually mean an upset gut. Try giving a bland diet for a few days and see if it settles down.
Loraine
I agree with Stitch, mucous around the poo it not an good sign, usually means a gut problem. Go talk to the vet.
sandgrubber
It happens sometimes in kennels. I run dogs in play groups and it's often hard telling whose is whose . . . but the glaze usually goes away. It may be a problem, but it's not a red flag unless it continues for a long time. KitKat
Has there been a chance in diet recently? or additional treats of a new sort etc? Or could she have gotten into something she wouldn't usually get into? - eg possum poo etc? It's occured for both my dogs and cats at various times...i don't usually worry about it unless it's something that happens a lot on an ongoing basis.
