Pointers Rule
Asking this for my Mum. They have an English Setter, He has the yearly heartworm vac and gets treated monthly with frontline for fleas. Mum found some fleas on him- the frontline is not lasting the month. She doesn't really want to put it on him every fortnight and was wondering if there is another spot on product that she can use. Advantix, revolution etc would be doubling up on the heartworm. Any suggestions?
Golden Rules
Yes, ditch the Frontline and try Neem Oil spray - spray twice weekly only when fleas are bad. www.neemaus.com.au
Cavandra
Advantage (fleas only) Advantix, does not do heartworm, repels mosquitos, but doe not do heartworm as such. Every client I have on Frontline always have fleas!
Poodle wrangler
Frontline Plus (freebie from vet) failed to work for fleas for me, too. I use Advantix. She won't be doubling up as it does not do heartworm. Only ticks, mozzies, fleas. Does your Mum live in a tick area? If so, consider fortnightly dosage as this is needed for paralysis tick. A cheaper alternative is a tick collar. Try pricelesspets.com.au.
