charlie mouse
Hi'a I have my own mobile grooming business and use flea shampoo and a flea rinse on my customers dogs when required but a couple of my customers have recently asked if i supply the spot on flea treatment ie Advantage etc, so far I have recommended that they get some and have offered to put it on there dogs for them if they want me to. I was just wandering do any groomers keep a supply and just pass on the cost to the customer or is it more trouble than its worth. Also has anyone ever suggested that the customer bomb there house as well as treat the dog for fleas ? I would love to say it to one of my customers as her dog has loads of fleas that keep coming back even after all my efforts but I am worried she will think i am being rude. alanglen
Most of the topical products are not able to be applied straight after a bath, usually need 24 hours plus delay after bath, so wouldn't really be applicable to a grooming business, could perhaps sell it for the client to apply thou. Dogsfevr
When it comes to fleas we will happily tell clients they need to flea bomb there house, spray there yard etc etc.If they dont like it then they can go elsewhere.Whilst your grooming that dog those fleas are jumping off into your equipment, clothes etc etc.You then have to spray your business area to ensure they dont bred or you pass them on to the next client. There is no excuse for fleas in this day & age . We dont keep them on hand but will happily inform the client on what they should do & explain that if they dont the problems long term & the fact as a groomer i do not expect to have to deal with fleas on jmyself. We are lucky & the salon is on our premises but we then have to treat if a dog comes in & i run for the shower & wash the clothes. Those with major repipitive flea issues we refuse to do after awhile

Clyde
I know of a lot of groomers who sell individual top spots. Advantage used to say wait 24 hours but a quick look the other day and I couldnt see it written, yet the ingredients havent changed so not sure whay that's changed (unless I missed it). Definitely tell owner to bomb house, also at the same time use a fresh vaccuum bag and also treat their car!!! Bedding etc. I agree it's very frustrating. I get so tired of writing info down for clients re flea control and nothing ever gets done.
4 Paws
I used to sell advantix when i owned my mobile business as i found people didn't seem to make an effort and go and buy it from vets etc. They liked it for the convenience I'm sure it's illegal to sell single treatments of products like Advantix though
Rysup
I would apply it if they had it, but never supplied it.
