Police Dogs

Try not to generlise all RAFF handlers, I have a family member who is one and his dogs are very will trained. When a member of our family was seriously hurt he spent hours training a dog to be a campion and protector. I was only very young at the time but I could do anything to that dog without a problem

Re- read the post - I did not say all - in fact I elaborated that it was a shame for those who are genuine (and who actually have been a dog handler long enough to make the claim). After posting I figured I should have held my fingers! But I have seen the results (on my dogs and others) of some of these so called EX dog handlers and I doubt that the RAFF or any other organisation would allow the type of training methods used by some. However I know there to be many out there who are very knowledgeable.

If there were Police dogs in my street no way in hell would my dogs be out. They'd be locked up inside so they wouldnt be driving me insane with barking, and letting the Police get on and do their job. I think it's nice the Police asked you to lock him up.

OH is reading behind my shoulder & getting agitated...do you mean RAAF? He gets crotchety when people don't get it right

He's got a good story of sending the newbies all around the base looking for a K9P form. Poor blokes get shunted from one office to the next until someone tells them to go down to the doggy squad & that they'd probably have some. Great sense of humour, ranks right up there with left handed screwdrivers :o
