I have read that South Coast Chickens is great but is there anywhere else that is good for both raw food and dry?

We are at the inlaws place and there isn't a huge amount of room in the freezer but I am sure I can squeeze some meat in there

I get my dry food at petbarn, on the main road from Wollongong to Figtree (follow crown street for 10 mins). They also sell brisket etc I believe but I just get mine from the butcher at fairymeadow...he is quite cheap. The other option is Petstock, they are on the princes hwy between wollongong and fairymeadow (only 5 mins out of the gong) they have both these things too but I dont like them as much. You can PM me if you need directions and want to tell me whereabouts you are.

Hi CBL,

you can't beat South Coast Chickens for there carcasses, mince and i think they have necks .$6 for a box and they have around 40 + caracsses

I got a couple of things delivered from the meat place that advertise on here.Brisket bones were quite good,10kg for $17 plus delivery. The roo tails were really large pieces though. They come to Wollongong every couple of weeks

Oh,and i can give you some samples of some dry food to try if you like

Thanks - would love some samples. I think we are going to get a special greyhound kibble first up but samples are always good

Unfortunately we only have a little freezer for the 4 of us so I can't get big boxes of carcasses at the moment. The inlaws do have a big freezer that we are taking when we move but it isn't set up and there is no room in the house for it.

Can vouch for 4 paws- she's our supplier

The Petbarn is figtree is great for brisket bones/lamb shanks and stuff as well.

I just get mine from the butcher at fairymeadow...he is quite cheap

which one?? I go to the one in Daisy St - he has really good meat (raises and kills his own mostly) and always has stuff put away for me for the dogs!

Pet barn must have been low on stock this week because they didn't have alot of meat aside from mince.

Haven't been to any butchers in Fairy Meadow, I might head out there though.

They have two freezers- there are the big ones along the left wall as you walk in the bones are in a smaller deep freeze to your right next to the stairs.

I never noticed it before either as it's kind of hidden, I should have mentioned that before sorry!

Hmmm not sure of the street...its better choice meats near woolworths. The guy who owns the place gives me enough brisket to last Maz about a month for $1.50, BUT I'm not sure his price is universal...he tells me I remind him of his daughter, I think he looks after me on that basis

Whats the one on Daisy St called?

My partners mum buys big bags of Brisket from petbarn for a reasonable price but they are waaaayyyy to fatty to give my pup, he would have runny poo for days! Friendly butcher cuts the fat off for me

Yeah thats the one! I don't buy the brisket bones (they aren't big enough for my dogs) but he brings out chicken carcasses for me from their other store  I go in about once a week and just say to one of the guys "what have you got today?" my dogs have got some interesting things from him!

He's not the cheapest butcher in the world but it's great service and his meat is always really good quality!

OT- 4 paws thanks for the food! Have sent you and email!

The other place I really like is Xanado Natural Pet Care at Kiama (I know, its a bit of a trip but its worth it!)

they have really good vegie/supplement combo mince that they make up as well as all sorts of other good stuff.

Just picked up chicken wings at Country Grocer at Unanderra(behind the Wollies)for $1.85 kg.

Guess its for the week

Ah man! I was just down at Woolies 5 mins ago and didn't think of getting some wings

I got a box of necks though - had to store most of them at my mums in her freezer as they just won't fit here. I may be able to fit a few more things in her freezer but maybe should get some beef or the like for a change? I'll have to make a dent in the necks first though I think.

MissA - that place sounds great. I might have to make a trip down next weekend.
