dogbesotted
Actually occasionally MCTs are wide spread and pervasive ( my brothers boxer has this form) and surgery just was not an option. However that is not common. My Lucinda has been living with MCT grade 3 no clean margins since 28 aug 2002. Holistically treated. Cheers all.... Mooper remember that it is a good idea to read as much as you can..... join other specialised groups and get personal reports. and discuss and question what is being done with Jack with your vet. Hope this helps... Helen

percyk
sorry Mooper horrible news and my heart goes out to anyone who has a dog with that diagnosis and id not want to hear any bad news at alll...only the good stories but lewis and lynn obviously had some experience with the sadder end of the cancer spectrum and felt a need to share...(and i do know how badly it affects u when ur dog is taken away tragically ...reading ur response brings it all back to me and even tho its been years and years/.//the pain can be summoned hard and sharp from its resting place in my heart...) i have to deal with these sort of situations all the time...its very hard when ur story ends up with a bright and happy ending...but its also hard for those whose outcome wasnt so good i dont think anyone would ever be the bearer of a gloom just for the sake of it...but i do also understand when friends rush to quash any news that may unsettle the recepient... i guess we all will be in a similar situation as loving dog owners like the ole sporting rule...gracious winners ...gracious losers... i do so hope that u have some smooth sailing
morgan
Consider using CAA Capsules as a support for your dog. These have helped many cancer patients and are quite cheap. They are based on the original Percy's Powder, which was developed to cure cancer in livestock and then people 70 odd years ago.

Janba
Sorry about Jack's diagnosis. My dally had a MCT that was growing very aggressively she was about 14 months old. It was removed with clean margins and she is fine 4 1/2 years later. We have done no other treatment, but every lump she gets is checked and she had a lymph node aspiration? about 12 months ago as the nodes were up, but they were fine.
