ashan
I am sure this has already been asked but is there a good dog food roll on the market (something like the VIP ones). I wanted to start buying these as the BARF is taking too much time now I am on internship. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
austen
Hmm, I asked this the other day when buying some petfood. Did you know that you can buy the barf patties already cut up? I asked about the rolls you were talking about and was told thy are still not much better than tinned food. Also need to buy then in fairly large rolls, and they don' last that long once they have been cut so you have to cut them up and freeze them anyway, unless you have heaps of dogs that will eat it quickly. cavNrott
Ecopet rolls are about the only ones I would use and only then in an emergency. They are all natural, no nasties in them. I haven't seen them anywhere else but Ritchies IGA.

huski
I have (happily) used Scotty's and VIP pet food rolls in the past.
cavNrott
The best way to decide is to look at the ingredient list on the rolls.
Frenchfry
I have happily used scotty's pro-peak, but usually only in emergencies. They have a website which shows you the products available, but again you would need to go to the ingredience list on the roll for the make up of it. I haven't seen them anywhere else but Ritchies IGA. Second that!! Eco Pet almost smells like something you would eat yourself - is quite dense, not full of gelatin like many other rolls. I think it is made in Melbourne, so might be hard to get in other states - I've also found that now I can only get it at Ritchie's IGA, although a lady at South Melbourne Market used to sell it. New Age Outlaw
I have (happily) used Scotty's and VIP pet food rolls in the past. Yeah, I have used the Scotty's in the past and it is really good, but I think may only be available in Qld?

ashan
Thanks for all the responses. I will check out my IGA tomorrow and see if they stock it although I am in NSW. He is happily eating VIP at the moment but if I can get a better one that would be great.
poodlemum
Try this link to look for Ecopet stockists: http://www.ecopet.com.au/index2.html I have found that the fussiest dogs (& even cats) like ecopet
austen
The BARF patties are good. Yep - my dog likes these, and they are already made into patties so all you have to do is defrost them!
ashan
I went into my IGA today and they don't stock the Ecopets one but they are happy to order it in and are looking into where to get it from. Thanks for all the info.
