~Anne~
You will find varying advice for the pimples. Personally I would leave them alone. They will come and go over his entire life. Some Pugs seem to be more suspectible then others in getting them. The pimples are usually caused by irratation to the chin and muzzle. Having a flat face, Pugs shove their whole face against objects when sniffing them... they also shove their whole face in food when eating and this will often irritate the skin causing the blemish like moles. Keep his face clean and dry is the best advice I could give. Someone who shows may be able to offer advice on a way to cover them up temporarily or clear them quickly though. Pug Hugger
glad this topic is here i was going to ask the same question today! louie has full blown acne, pus and all poor boy I am wiping his face daily with a baby wipe but cannot think of what else to do
Clyde
I'd definitely stop with the baby wipes. You could shampoo his face with a little Malaseb due to the pus but otherwise I would just leave it or wipe with a clean, damp towel. The Malaseb would be akin to clearasil for dogs... antibacterial. Make sure it stays on for ten minutes though. Edited October 16, 2007 by Dru
badboyz
I would highly suggest giving apple cider vinegar daily if you are not already doing so. All my dogs get a capful in their food. Lately my 16yr old son also has a capful in his juice in the morning and his skin has cleared up considerably.
Clyde
Egg shells are also meant to help combat acne.
Nekhbet
I would have them checked by a good vet anyway. Some antibiotics could be needed or it could be a hormonal problem, or a hair folicle infection.
