Booster Shot

Sam is coming up on 15 months and I have heard people at obedience talk about booster shots when they get to about that age.

Could someone give me a bit more detail thanks.

Your Sam will need a booster shot, they usually have it at 12 mnths, but don't let the vet give him the Fort Dodge Protech Duramine as it can cause fitting, diahorrhea with blood which lasts up to 6 wks, or death in severe cases. Some dogs can take it and not have a reaction, but I don't think it's worth the risk. I only use Canvac C5 for a 12 mnth booster.

oh dear thanks for the info.

Its weird because normally I get some kind of reminder letter from my vet but nothing so im not sure if I should ring and book for a booster shot or not as she hasnt had any since the three or is it four i cant remember sorry puppy shots.

The booster shot is usually given 12 months after the last puppy vaccination rather than when the pup is 12 months of age, or that's been the case with all my dogs.

Your vet will probably send you a reminder just before the 12 month mark.
