Kingsleychi
Roxy my beautiful baby (foster failure) has been a wonderful girl in her training and we have dealt with the chewing and destroying problems and have pretty much fixed them all BAR ONE............ We have this lovely tree that usually sits just by our front window, Roxy will just not leave it alone. She literally will sneak out of the room your in to go to the tree and chew it. We have tried moving it, fencing it off (she jumps over the fencing) and certain remedies people have mentioned like pepper, dishwashing liquid etc to no avail. No matter what she just keeps chewing this one tree, which by the way has still managed to grow so more amazingly. I am thinking as much as we love this tree maybe it is time to say goodbye and let it move on Unless of course anyone can give me some ideas of anything else we should be trying or who we can keep her away from it. JeffnCel
Our Buffy went through this phase, we had to make the hard decision to let a few plants go. She's stopped now thank heavens. She also has this obsession with corriander. We had a beautiful herb garden (which lasted all of 3 days when we got Buffy) then I transplanted to a pot she couldn't easily reach. She managed to eat ALL my corriander plants. Wasn't interested in any of the others, just the corriander
JulesP
Roxy may move on to other plants once she has had her wicked way with that one! My border collie destroyed heaps of plants when he was a pup, fingers crossed he seems to have stopped now! The garden is looking much nicer now, lol. jaybeece
I think they grow out of it eventually. My dog had it in for my chili bush and nothing I did made any difference. He's also yank out any wooden stakes I used to stop it falling down *sigh* I even turned to iron star pickets (hammered into the ground as far as they would go) and would find them lying around the garden when I got home. He ended up actually eating most of the bush, green chilis and all, then turned on my newly planted vegie patch. I completely abandoned planting anything in the backgarden after that. 2 years later he's more or less stopped completely. He even leaves wooden stakes alone- they've been there for 3 weeks now so I think they're safe ;) I might even muster up the courage to plant something new in the backgarden soon.
