Summer Poodle Clip

Is #7 too short for spring-summer?

I've always clipped the mini poodle #5F in the past, so haven't gone this short b4.

The #7 is for the apricot standard poodle who seems to feel the heat. He hasn't got the best poodle coat (wavier, less dense). I clip his belly with a #10.

Thanks.

Do the body with the 7f and the legs with a 3f or scissor quite short otherwise he will look like a plucked chook

I've already done a chicken legs clip on Oscar, the mini poodle.

Must not clip legs too short :champagne: , must not clip legs too short

I have 2 mini's that have short cuts on 5f and one 7f and i find a big difference in them, Despite having the same coats. The 7f looks more smooth and velvety that the 5f but thats me. I agree with everyone for a standard leave the legs longer although i would persoanlly go with a 4f for the legs not a 3f. just more in proportion but its all relative to your taste. And i think your standard boy is abolutely stunning!

I always clip my girl on the body with a 7F, in summer I will give her chicken legs with braclets

A short Bikini Clip is the way to go in summer if you want your dog short, but still looking 'maintained' :champagne:

Took some pics yeterday.

I don't have a #7 blade, so did both dogs with a #5F body- though it looks much shorter on the apricot standard because his fur's not so thick. I think the #7 might be too short on him. Had a lesson from Charlie's breeder, too, so the scissoring's better.

Day after, took the dogs to the beach :o. Ah well, they are dogs after all
