MrsD,

That is supposed to be great, lots of people stay there when they trial in Coffs.

We've just come back from a week camping there Pax, we absolutely LOVE it there, we go there for a week every school holidays. Its quiet, right on the beach (which is offlead) & it's very dog & kid friendly.

5 paws from the dogs too, they have a ball when we go there  .

Here are my 3 on the beach on Friday

Thanks for those places - checking them out on the net now. Any of them Border Collies inside? It's only a 1 nighter, so in a way it doesn't matter.

Cheers.

No dogs allowed inside cabins at Mylestom, but we camp so it doesnt make a difference to us.

We survived our week of camping. What did other listers that attended think of the Camp?

I enjoyed learning how to teach all the tricks and my dog is too. :)

So what did you think was the best of it and the worst?

I was only there the Wed & Friday but I had a great time. Yes it was similar to last year, but I still got alot out of it, especially as I took Jarrah this year & he is able to learn alot of the tricks (last year I only had Jonty & he was only a puppy of about 6 months, so we didnt get to get involved as much).

I loved everyone getting up & doing some impromptu boogying with their dogs  & thought the cabaret/competition on the Friday was excellent  .

Also love the games after lunch each day, I remembered Wednesday's from last year & no matter how mad keen a retriever Jarrah is, there is no way on earth he would bring me back a frankfurt  .

It was nice to meet you too :) , I thought I might have a chance with the drop sit stand one on Friday but he suddenly decided that he didnt know what sit from a drop meant  . The secret to that one if you do it with your back turned, is to do the signals with your opposite arm that you normally use, so it looks exactly the same to the dog from where hes sitting  .

Bad things about the camp hmmmm. Apart from the cost :) :) , nothing really, as I already mentioned it was fairly similar in content to last years , but for me at least it didn't matter because Jarrah got to be involved alot. It was nice having my friend Anne with Delta there too as we train doggy dancing together so we got to bounce ideas off each other & Im sure it will help when we start doing routines, especially when we do one together (which we keep talking about but haven't done yet!).

It was nice to see some of the people I have met at other seminars as well, like Tassie & MrsDog & Tony - living a long way apart means you don't always catch up that often.

Tassie was there for the whole week last year & this year, I wonder what she thought about the similarities & good bits & bad bits? She should be home by now, wonder where she is?

Hope Tony enjoyed his stop on the way back at Mylestom, that reminds me I must send hom an email & see how he got on.

Hi guys - finally back from 5 weeks on the mainland - all agilitied out! After Camp Tailwaggers, I visited with friends in Brisbane and Central Coast, then did a couple of agility trials in Sydney, and finally what was meant to be a double-double last weekend in Warrnambool - but Sunday was cancelled - foul weather - wet, cold and windy enough to blow small dogs off dog-walks if they hadn't cancelled the Sunday.

I really enjoyed camp again this year - as others have said - yes, it was similar to last year - but the 2 days of HTM/tricks was good, I think - and I had a chance to do more with my boy Fergus as well as with Kirra. Mary was a great help again - probably more able to do more individual stuff in those sessions, since it wasn't quite so crowded. Having obedience ring run-outs available on Saturday, as well as agility, seemed to be a good innovation. The Friday night cabaret was great - makes me wish there were some more people down here doing dancing - but hey - when would I find the time. Have to go to work to feed the dog habits I've got already!

Haven't booked for next year, since I've been 3 times now - and Agility Nats in Melbourne at the end of August is a bit too close but not close enough.

It was fun meeting you other DOLers and your lovely dogs. And I have to thank MrsD for letting me know where my little demon bitch Kirra had gone - Kirra decided that she didn't want to go back up to the cabin, and escaped back down to the training centre - so I guess she was having a good time.

Did you get to work more with your dogs this year? I found it was a lot of sitting around watching other people one by one work with their dogs. I did a Richard Curtis seminar and he was great, he would have half the group on the floor working on an exercise and then switch them over. Yep I enjoyed the lunch time games last year, we won best trick. Where did people go for the day off? The Heelwork to music comp sounds like fun. Where you allowed to video this year? How many people were there? Many repeat people?

 Hi Jules - BTW, before I forget - congrats on Tia's herding success - saw her title in VicDog.

I'd say there was more time to work with your own dog this year. Videoing - only of your own dog. Quite a few repeat people - Deb was there, with lovely Gladys grown into a pretty little girl - and Kathy from Sydney - and Colleen and John with the labs - and Mrs D of course. I spent the day off around camp and going down to the beach with the dogs. Some went to the winery again. Having the 2 days of HTM/tricks was good - gave a bit more chance to work with your own dog on different things.

Miss you too, Noels - but it was lovely to catch up at the Sydney trials. Can't wait for you and Janet to do the 'sisters' routine - sorry everyone else - in joke.

Ed because I forgot to say - Hi Pax - lovely to meet you and your gorgeous kid. Yes, it's certainly good to be home - even though there's a stack of stuff to do. It's been very dry here but somehow the grass has grown like mad. Dogs are pleased to be home, and cats (although they had a good time at the cattery - the 18 year old looks really good!)
