dogcop
I have the full set of Furminators and I am stoked at the job they do. They are easy to use whilst you do have to exercise due care. I have used them on Staffies,Pugs,Labs,Cavs,Goldens and even our own Saint. Chris
Golden Rules
I use a furminator on one of my goldies and it really does make a difference as to how much hair I collect off the floor in a week

cassie
so are you guys saying its worth its HUGE price? Ebay is the way to go! I bought a large-sized one off there, it came from Japan and arrived within 4 days of me buying it, and it was just over $30 INCLUDING shipping! They seem to have heaps on Ebay too, you can't go wrong. I can understand how it would seem like a lot to pay for the ones they sell in shops though! I wouldn't have bought one at those prices either!

Golden Rules
I've never heard of them! Can you use them on cats too? My cats lose more hair than Blayd and it's soooo annoying when it gets on the furniature I don't think so - they aren't double coated for a start.......and the Furminator strips the undercoat. Having owned a long haired cat, the best way to pick up hair off the sofa is with a rubber glove rubbed over the upholstery.

Can you please explain more on this. Leanne It cuts the coat - not suitable for show dogs The site says it doesn't cut the coat though, just removes the undercoat by pulling it out. I used one on my terrier x poodle and it got heaps of under coat out, and his top layer is still seems the same? Maybe I am not as observant as a showy, but it truely seems the same. For the person with the cat ^^ my daughter contacted a seller, and they said the only difference between the cat one and the small dog one was the colour of the handle. Out of interest, she got half a pillow case full of cat hair off of one short haired small moggy, and says there is heaps less on her clothes/ furniture etc.

Gomez the Norfolk
I use it on Gomez sometimes, he has a distinct double coat that needs to be stripped twice a year - the furminator will pull out the downy undercoat, but it will also pull out some of his wiry topcoat, so I only use it when he is getting shaggy between strippings or when he needs to look neater... so it will take off top and undercoat if your dog has two coats -
WinGus
Does this work on short, smooth coated dogs like a mini foxie?! I've been using a rubber brush like the zoom groom, but still find I have to brush her every day to cut down the amount of hair all over the place. My baby is shedding heaps at the moment!! laffi
I use it on my two cats and my goldie and I LOVE it. It's not as good though for my aussie shepherd.
