My 12 week old pup has been having wings since she was 8 weeks old the vet said as long as you make sure she is chewing them properly there should be no problem. here is a photo of her at 9 weeks she wanted to bring it inside .....I think not. sas Posted September 22, 2007 Share Posted September 22, 2007 Chicken necks are great for puppies & dogs who chew their food, they shouldn't be given to dogs who Gulp or in the pressence of other dogs incase they gulp them so the other dog can't get the food. Weeacre Posted September 23, 2007 Share Posted September 23, 2007 i had a boxer bitch who used to give them 1 chomp then swallow them.. never had any trouble she lived til she was 13. i have since stopped feeding necks as they dont fill my girls enough, i feed mince, thighs, carcasses. Chicken necks are only suitable for dogs who chew well, I wouldn't be giving them to you dog if it swallows them whole as it could possibly cause an obstruction. I gave my bitch a chicken neck.. she didnt chew it lucky she spwed it back up as soon as it happend.. i give them all brisket bones now.. Eldoop Posted September 25, 2007 Share Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) I use to give Minx chicken necks no worries, and as afew have said, once she got older I started with the wings, now she gets the whole carcass, but I was wondering if I can give my new boy chicken necks???? he is a 8 week old toy poodle??
