Guest Robatife BCs
Hi all, I am currently feeding Royal Canin but havent really found it any better than the other foods. I was thinking of switching back to Eagle Pack and they are ordering it in where I work so it is easy enough to access. I used to feed the Power Formula and found it quite good. Does anyone else use it? Also, do you think Eagle Pack is the best way to go "quality" speaking? I want quality for money and wondered if anyone would recommend anything else over Eagle Pack. ETA; would you recommend Eagle Pack over Nutrience? Daisy Edited September 18, 2007 by Robatife BCs
MolassesLass
I recently reviewed the dry food I fed and came down to Nutrience, Nutro and Eagle Pack. I now feed Nutrience as I felt the ingredients were better than the other two (using recommendations from TheDogFoodProject), it's cheaper and easier to get. Carluke
We feed Eagle Pack Power - switched from Purina Pro Plan ( I think it was) we have been using it for a bit more than a year and we are with the results. Our last litter of Rough puppies were also reared on Eagle Pack puppy dry, we moved the ones we kept on Power and those that went to other homes switched dry foods IMHO ours look heaps better, more substance - coat the works. Gomez the Norfolk
In my opinion, Eagle Pack is superior to Nutrience, better ingredients, less fillers, especially with the Holistic range. As for the Power Formula, I was told when I enquired in the States, that it is meant for super athletic dogs, such as those running the Iditarod... however, you could ask them yourslef, their number is at www.eaglepack.com.au
leopuppy04
I have only tried Eagle pack hollistic and am most impressed with it. Especially since you can also get other flavours other than chicken!!! I haven't tried any of the other EP formula's. I think the EP hollistic is superior to Nutrience, but I still feed both as a variety. In terms of the normal EP and Nutrience - I would say they were pretty much on par ;)
Kavik
I've been trying a few different foods to see if any of them help with Diesel's allergies. At the moment I am feeding Eagle Pack Holistic Anchovy etc. I don't see any difference (in the condition of the dogs) than when they were on ProPlan, and I am thinking of changing back to ProPlan after this to get a good comparison. All of my dogs are good eaters and don't really care which brand they get
JENCOL
My girls are on Eagle Pack Power Formula and have been for roughly 6 months now. I had been feeding an all raw diet however found it too hard to keep weight on them as they all eat until they are full, so adding extra was fruitless. Am more then happy with the results, the girls maintain weight easily, are full of energy and coats are great! They all still get part raw but with stay with what I am doing now as I got the results I wanted. Should add, stools are small and esy to clean up, no 'cow pats' that some other brands have caused! Jenny Yes, Mine get raw too but only on my days off work because I can watch them eat it (I get home in the dark from work). I should put my Shepherd on it too, her weight is always going up and down. (she is on Royal Canin GSD)

I looked on that dogfoodanalysis website and it said that the holistic formulas do have less grains and are a bit better quality. But then the performance formula has 20% fat and 30% protein and I like the protein levels to be high. So now I am confused, which formula should I be feeding to get maximum results? The Performance or something like the Holistic Fish or Chicken?
goldielover
I've used a few of their formulas. Currently i'm using Power for my lactating bitch. It's very concentrated compared to some other 'energy' formulas from other companies, meaning that the price per feed is comparable to lower quality brands. For my puppy i am trialling the new Holistic Large breed puppy. Prior to this she was on regular Large/Giant breed puppy. My older girl is currently on Pro Plan weight management as it was on special LOL I'm really happy with Eagle Pack.
Guest Robatife BCs
Thanks for everyone's help After great reviewing, it looks to me like the EP Holistic Chicken wins hands down. It contains no corn at all plus 3 meat meals within the first few ingredients. None of the other EP foods contain this much meat. It is also holistic and has the added bonus of fruit and vegies. Will contact the stockists tomorrow.
ShesaLikeableBiBear
Recommend you look at Nutro's Adult Performance which is avail from here: http://www.4pawsandmore.com.au/ The owner has a background in dog nutrition and would be more than happy to discuss various foods with you. The Performance or something like the Holistic Fish or Chicken? I have this battle too. But - due to the high levels of protein and fat in the power pack - I don't use it unless my dogs need a bit more 'conditioin' or say - if I were breeding.... I think the Hollistic are fine for the 'average' dog. The power pack for both Nutrience and EP were designed for 'sled dogs' or dogs that work all day - Although mine exercise for around 1-3+ hrs a day, I only feed it in small amounts ie: I buy the smaller pack and supplement it in with the normal 'adult' food if that makes sense. Seems to work great for me

Guest Robatife BCs
Just had a look at the ingredients of Nutro and Nutrience Holistic but I still think I prefer Eagle Pack. It is the only one with 3 meats at the top of the ingredients list and got a great rating on dogfoodanalysis.com. I also want a food that has no corn in it, which EP holistic chicken doesnt.
