EISHUND
Wow... I'm kind of........... astounded............ that someone would not plan ahead and could 'run out of food' for their pets. :shakehead: Yep I can! Me too ;)
kateykateykatey
LOL! Don't stress! I run out of all sorts of things all the time! My brain is so full of bus timetables, after school sports, assignments that need to be written, lectures I've just had, random txts from my brother in WA and nagging kids... Not to mention OH telling me boring stories about how fantastic his job is...that stuff just...gets...forgotten! Douglas Adams was of the opinion that we could only remember a certain number of things at any one time, and every time we remembered something new, another thing would be forgotten. I'm sure my brain works this way sometimes. I was about to go in to a Human Biology exam last year and couldn't for the life of me remember the word "lungs"
Sheridan
My dog gets mince turkey as he can't have beef, lamb or chicken. I went to three separate supermarkets without luck once. Given that this might happen occasionally, I keep some canned sardines in the cupboard for emergencies. He loves them.
Lowchenlove
I ran out last night. :D I knew I was out. Got in from work expecting to go shopping and waited and waited for my son to return home from his mates house. By the time he rocked up it was too late to go to the butchers. I didn`t even have an egg or rice in the cupboards. Had to do a late night drive out to the garage and get some tinned crap. Dogs loved it but I felt so very, very guilty - don`t feel guilty if I run out of food for the kids though..strange that.
Kaos Central
i think we have all had times when we have lost the plot....working in rescue, owning my own business and running a home can get chaotic.....i have gone to the freezer knowing that there was heaps of food only to realise that the kids have decided to have a BBQ and come to our place and taken all the meat....including the dogs food....yes they have eaten it.....last time it happened we went to our fish and chip shop and got them grilled fish....grilled hamburger patties and we also got our dinner....we also cooked them rice and mixed some frozen vegies in and mixed the whole lot together...they loved it.....we now try to buy them fish once a week....usually whatever is cheap at the market.....this week they got prawns $3 kg for all the ugly bits....i dont know how good it is for them but they love it. toofarnorth
Prawns!! :D Were they peeled or did you give them whole? If you tell me you peeled them for your dogs, I will be astounded!! (i would rather clean toilets than peel prawns!)
