Mindless Brag Page....

Hey just as well I got in first - I think Ptolomy might have to start taking bookings. Not sure where she would find the time mind you  . Since when I return back to SA she still has to deal with my endless emails :) , although regardless of how she goes tomorrow night Ness will be getting at least a month off her training and we will just spend the time playing and going for walks.

Remind me I am not NERVOUS (which really says its 10:30 the night before the trial and I am scared beyond belief and can't sleep ;) ).

And of course I'll let you know how I get on Leopuppy.

Welllllll geez did my little black and white feral pull something completely unexpected out of the bag tonight. She worked a really stunning UD round - no pass but geez I was only hoping to pass an exercise or two and she did really really well. 25 for Seekback, 19 and 16 for Directed Jumping, Articles she found two out of three correct. Signals heelwork she got through it nicely only to goof the sit up at the end. 16 for Gloves.

Open she was sore but still didn't do badly. 28 for DOR and full marks for her retrieve over the high. Just goofed the sit again in the COPs.

Very Very thrilled with her and a great debut UD effort.

Have to take my hat off to Sally and Ness. You should be mightly proud of your black and white girl Sal - she did a tremendous job tonight in UD :) You have sent me lots of video clips of previous trials but this one was by far the best effort you have both ever done.

I didn't even have to get my stick out - have to tell everybody your handling has improved out of site. You praised your dog between every exercise, You walked in a straight line, your turns were lovely, wow you should be tickled pink.

It isn't easy coming interstate, living with 11 dogs in a house, fitting into a strange routine, eating different food, having somebody beat you over the head with a stick everytime you get it wrong, and still being able to lift the bar to a new level.

I hope you have enjoyed your stay and take back lots of happy memories and new trainning ideas.

PS - will make sure I check your bags for any red dogs just in case

Just a little brag of my own......

Sexy Lexi - my baby got her CCD title tonight - winning the ring with 97 out of 100.

Newly crowned Ch Beans won novice with 196/200

Bag features Blaize would have won open but got up to scratch as I returned to her in the down stay

Scoota Moota - failed the second scnet article in UD - but as everybody else failed was the highest scoring dog in the ring. His work was lovely.

Lara failed seekback in UDX - but her work was lovely too. Lara turned 11 last week.

Well a final Ness brag for the year.

We have had a great 2007 and tonight she managed to add her first pass in open agility and another open jumping pass to her tally for the year. Its been a really successful year for her and geez we have come a long way.

Its also my final night in Perth and I have learnt so very much in the past fortnight and had an absolute blast.

Hopefully 2008 will be equally successful :banghead: .

I know what I'm about to say isn't so much obedience/agility, etc but just had to share.

Our family has had Blush (Aussie) for about 14mths and when she came to us she didn't play. 5mths later we had her playing tug but that was it (she loves a good wrestle but I'm a sooky la la and get hurt to easy  )

Break though last night - went out to move the greywater hose (Denny & Kiz inside, Blush outside cause she was having natural gas emmissions) and stubbed my toe on a dog toy (one of those balls with the blobs on em that bounce every which way). I picked it up and threw it in a tanty and Blush chased it, looking very goofy, and picked it and brought it back to me!!!!!!!!!

I did this for about another 5 minutes and it was great, she fetched every time - I'm so proud.

Must also mention that my husband thought I was mad when I made him come out and watch

Another boring one from me...

I took le mutt to the beach last night so he could go for a paddle on his long lead in a quiet spot. This is a little way down from the Brighton offlead area so we walked past a lot of onlead dogs on the way there and back.

Normally he loses his mind when larger dogs approach head on, but he walked beautifully past around 6-8 dogs without showing any sign of getting worked up. In fact the couple of occasions when he did get excited to the point of pulling on the lead were very justified- I ran into a friend with her 2 tiny dogs and he desperately wanted to say HI! HI! HI! HI! to her but couldn't because her dogs are terrified of him. Even when he was out on the end of his lead and a larger dog was let off nearby (illegally) he didn't fixate on it and I managed to call him back pretty easily.

I'm so proud of him  The extra socialising at dog school has really paid off well.

Hi JulesP!

Pups training is going great. Stasi has built up her focus to about 4 minutes, and she drops well too, while maintaining focus. She is now teaching her heel position (static), and extending her focus time even longer.

Whats pups name? Poppy?

ETA Pup learn't how to pull washing off the line today :D :p

I have a brag probably a little different.

A mate rang one day and said there"s a good dog in Town, but he is not doing too well putting up with Surburbia. The people who ended up with him, could not handle him and wanted him gone.

I went and had a look at him.He was a big hard Dog,battlescarred and rough.I took him home and went from there. He had been a Bull catching Dog up North at one stage and had seen the odd knock or two.

The two of us got along fine.

Friends from up in the Mountains were going away for a week and asked me to look after their place. The Friends had commercial and stud cattle. The Friends warned me about one Bull as they said he was pretty rank.

In the Bush, you just handle whatever comes along and I have a bad habit of understating things,so I paid the old Bull little attention except to make sure I had a Whip in the Ute.

The Friends had Dog runs, some covered in,some not and had sides made of Weldmesh.I had this old Dog with me and this morning put him in one of the runs.I loaded the ute up with hay and went to feed Cattle.I was throwing hay out in a line off the back while the Ute idled along in first. The Cows were running in and then stringing out along the hay.The Cows were closest to me and spread along the line of hay.The Cows were on higher ground than me.I looked up and saw the Bull walking along behind the line of Cows, but not feeding.I paid him little attention.

It was my fault for being so casual.I turned my Back and headed downhill to the ute.Turns out the Bull was just picking his spot to line me up.I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and looked behind me.The Bull was coming at a great rate of knots down the hill at me.I thought this could be interesting!!!!I did not think I had time to get to the Ute and or the Whip. The other option is to stand one"s ground and use some fancy footwork.Using fancy footwork requires one to stand their ground till the Animal gets pretty close, then take evasive action.

I was debating fairly quickly which option to take. The Bull was now about three Ute lengths away from me.

Next thing there was a Brindle flash fly between the Bull and I.Next thing the Bull threw his head and let out a huge bellow and started to throw his Head madly around.

The Dog had climbed out of the run, flew up and hit the bull at 100 mile an hour!!!!The Dog latched onto the bull and drew him away from me.The Bull was throwing his head and of course trying to get rid of the Dog.The dog had caught many a Bull and knew just what he was doing.

The Dog certainly saved me and I was pretty happy he climbed out of the run. Tony
