Congrats on your title bridgie!!:)

Sounds like you've had a great month too!!!

Entered in Portland Double? Not too far for you. I just heard that it might be 37 degrees on the Sunday!!!!!!!!!! If that is the case, I'll probably go fishing, but judging does start fairly early I suppose.

It would be a shame to get a pass on the Saturday, and not try to complete the title on Sunday if I had the chance.

I have another little brag:

I got home the other day, and could hear my little girl (just turned 4) barking commands at my dog out the back.

I peered out the window and she had Oscar going over the Broadjump (formally) using well timed commands, hand signals and "free" at the end!! She even set him up properly and everything!

They were both having a ball together!

Its amazing just how much they pick up at that age.

A little trainer in the making! (although the jumps are now locked away :p )

I have to brag about Xena, my 17 month BC. We had our first flyball race on Saturday night. The team had a few challenges, but we had some great results in the team and a heap of fun into the bargain.

Xena only made 1 mistake on the night - I think I let her go a little too soon and she ran down the outside of the hurdles on her second run - she has only been crossing for about 4 weeks and still gets just a little neverous with the other dog coming towards her as she approaches the hurdles - fine the other way though! Apart from that she was 100% for the night and was running in the 5.9 to 6.5 second bracket  Also - did not get any slower as the night wore on! :)

Then at presentations she lay down and had a sleep, I actually had to wake her up to go and get her encouragement award. :p

Now I just hope she goes as well in Canberra next year!

Congrats to everyone's results. You must be excited Helen, fingers crossed for you and Bella.

Well we went to Warragul and although no passes I was very happy and surprised! Blush wasn't off with the fairy's, she was a bloody fairy  Kiz was nuts in first run (big suprise) but I was happy with her other runs.

The most bestest run of my ladies was my yellow dog Narmi. She absolutly shocked me (in a good way) she attempted every obstacle and even did the tunnel - pretty good for a baby girl who thought that running on top of the tunnel was the way to go! I realised afterwards that I was a very bad mum, she'd never even seen a tyre jump before but it didn't bother her - what a trooper! I can't wait to see how she goes once I start training her properly!

Unfortunately though I got sick from the heat and had to go home after the Sat morning comp :p Bloody stupid body - I drank heaps but still got ill

Had a good weekend at the Portland Trial this weekend, with Oscar gaining his Novice title with a couple more H.I.Ts (both by one point)

The Saturday was very warm and muggy, so it was good to give the dog a run down on the beach at Cape Bridgewater after the trial and he just loved it. (score 192)

The Sunday was much nicer trialling conditions (without the heat and glare) (score 196)

The trial was really well catered for and was a credit to the club. They even had a country pancake breakfast on the Sunday morning.

Got some time to say hello to a couple of doler's, and set up beside some lovely F.O.O people too. (one of which also gained her Novice title)

I can now start to concentrate on getting his Open work right over the summer break (as soon as he is finished being spoilt rotten), so the timing was very good.

I agree Prodigybxr - what can we do to sabotage this team who seems to be creeping up waaay to quickly into Open :) ;) .... Not to mention, stealing my HI T!!!!!!

Well done DD - bet you are really proud of Oscar - I'm not surprised he can work so well in the heat - with his tail going as fast as it does, it must work as a personal fan or something :o :o.

Ptolomy - well done - what an awesome weekend for you!!!

B_C well done also!!!! You have been doing brilliantly lately!

Ok - now I need to get my butt in gear !!!

Hi JulesP

I am going to take a few weeks off, and start up training straight after Christmas weather permitting. We have not all met up for a training session for ages, but maybe whoever is around during the holiday period may want to organise one. I should be available depending on the day.

I'll also be off work for a number of weeks in late March, after the birth of our fourth child.

Ahh it was you at Portland dogdude - I didn't see your routines but a big congratulations!!!

I wasn't sure it was you so didn't say anything... :champagne: I was the one playing soccer with the black dog up near the main gate :birthday:

Congratulations to you too Bridgie_Cat :champagne: - there was some tough courses and few passes handed out in the agility side so anyone who picked up a pass did very well!

Hi FeralPup

At first I had an inclination that it might be you, but I thought your dog seemed a little larger than what I could remember of your dog at the Gina seminar, and maybe your hair was different?? :champagne::laugh:

Anyway, I was facinated watching your dog mark the ball AFL style from the height it was coming down from! Super impressed while watching you warm up on your own equipment too, he was faster than lightning!!!

I bailed after the obedience on both days to go down the beach, then the long trip home on Sunday, so missed most of the agility.

I did see a very young kid do a run with a mini poodle before I left.

I really don't know much about the finer rules of agility, but it looked like he done a clear run, and everybody cheered him after the run. Bet he felt on top of the world!!

Hi everyone! Wow, been off the page for a day or two and didn't see this! Ptolomy and B_C, fantastic! DOGDUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D That is UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a truly fantastic way for Oscar to end his first year. Bang, bang, bang, just like that. What a super, super thing. You must be so proud of him. And yes, his tail must be his secret weapon to keep him cool lol. There are very few who achieve such outstanding results consistently and to do so at the beginning of his trialling career... wow. :) ;) :birthday: I really wish I'd been at those trials to see him.

JulesP, I would definitely be up for some training over the summer period, depending on where you go :birthday: I too have no life outside dogs... that's the way I like it :mad I am up and down Seaford, Frankston, KCC Park way all the time for training and to see friends (moving down that way early next year) but have car... can travel :provoke:

Once again to Dogdude, Ptolomy and B_C, YAAAAAY!!!

 She loves that soccer ball - I was trying to get the "feral" out of her before the afternoon but it didn't slow her down at all. I'm starting to think maybe there is such thing as "too quick"

That run with the young boy and the mini poodle was definitely a pass, 1st place and he also ended up being the highest scoring agility trialler for the weekend - he did incredibly well, certainly puts us older ones to shame :)

Ok - last mindless brag for the year... I promise ;)

Busy weekend this weekend! Agility trial on Sat and Obedience trial today.

Agility didn't start so well with some terrible runs in the morning and one distracted doggy - Ex Jumping was pretty bad, he just wasn't paying attention. Novice Agility was better, but we knocked 2 bars .

PM was a much better run. Mum got lost in Ex Jumping and turned to late, thereby causing dog to go wide and miss the jumps :p. But we did get a pass in Novice Agility (#2) and 30 sec under time ! It's been like extracting teeth getting these Nov Agility passes so i'm thrilled. We came 3rd in around 8 qualies, with some really good dogs there!

Today Obedience was organised by our home club and my first time as Trial Secretary (I hope all the DOlers who went had a good time!). Was very hot today with it hovering around 30deg! Leo worked brilliantly. Our 2nd ever trial in Open and we pulled of another pass - 189, great comments from the judge, 1st place and Highest scoring Croydon Member in trial  ! I've always wanted to pull off a 190 +, but I guess next time eh?! LOL! Couldn't be prouder with him considering the conditions!

Was the first weekend I've used my cool coat too - and needless to say - I'm very impressed with them.... they really work!!!!

Here's the photo with the loot! Go the DOL doggies!
