Feeding Buster

Buster is now 8 months old and growing fast. He is about 23-25 kilos and the vet said he is a little lean but that is the build of a boxer and that we are doing fine.

Can someone please give me advice as to how much we are meant to be feeding him?

He is being fed chicken frame's or kibble and eggs for breakfast and for dinner we feed him 1/2 kilo of pet mince with either kibble, rice or pasta.

Is that enough, too much or not enough?

I would really appreciate some advice just to make sure we are feeding him alright.

Remember the bit: "..that is the build of a boxer" and "we're doing fine"!

Only 1/2 a dog in the photo, but his coat looks healthy and glossy. Are his ribs, backbones or hip bones visible when he's standing normally? (normal for them to stick out if he's stretched out on his side) but all ribs visible plus hip bones and/or vertebrae oh his back is too lean.

Don't worry about what people say. Majority of people now have overweight (or worse) dogs . Even some vets have their view skewed by seeing so many overweight animals.

If he has lots of energy, bright eyes, shiny coat, normal stools, ribs easily felt with the flat of your hand against his side then you're feeding him right. You have to judge by the look of the dog, not a "set diet" or "set amount".
