I had my first walk with my new pup on Sat. It was about 10 mins and the pup kept sounding "Mmm...Ehh..." throughout the whole time. and then we went out again on Sun and she did it again...I don't understand why she "talked" during the walk...which she never does when she is in my backyard. Any ideas? Thanks

Not sure why that is..but i do remember the first time i walked my pup, every couple of minutes he stopped, sat and cried.

I suppose it just takes a while for the pup to get the hang of it!! ;)

Have they had 2nd vaccinations, yet? Most people recommend waiting until about 10 days after these before taking them for walks outside the backyard.

I'm not sure why she was "talking" maybe the excitement, sniffing combo?- So many new sights, smells and sounds on a walk. It's good exercise for brain as well as body and I found 10-15 mintues really tired my pup out- totally out of proportion to the amount of exercise involved.

they are due for their 3rd vacc this sat...but the male one never makes any sound. The little girl always talks  they are living in my backyard, so i assumed they have heard a lot of the outdoor sounds... :D

she always "complains" when i get to home through the garage door...by making those little funny noise...

This sounds similar to the noise one of my cavs makes! The first time we heard it we were worried, but have now realised she does it when she is super excited! e.g. If we run for a short distance, or when we go to the beach. It is hysterical, as the noise is usually accompanied by an increadibly wiggly bum and a tongue ready and waiting to lick anyone who comes close enough. Our other cav has started copying her now, but luckily isn't quite as noisy!

True...she does it when i run or play with her... so she won't stop even she has grown up or gets used to it???

although it does sound cute, sometimes I prefer to walk quietly....

I know what you mean mocha - sometimes other people ask to pat our dog at the beach, and well does that get her excited.... and the noise starts... You can see them thinking "what is wrong with this dog"

Geez Coco, why do you have to be such a weirdo
