shana
Hi Guys, I was wondering what I should do to clean up wee on the carpet? Is soapy water ok or is there a good spray or something anyone can suggest? Thanks heaps Vicki Edited September 1, 2007 by shana
gareth
Those nice absorbent kitchen paper towels do the job best I find. Use a good handful to press down on the wee and let it soak into the paper towel. That draws most of it out. Then you need some detergent such as Morning Fresh, or Biozet works well, dissolved on a wet sponge/rag, and gently sponge over the area to clean the remainder. Works for me, but I am sure there wil be others with better ideas. Edited September 1, 2007 by gareth
Faolmor
a carpet cleaning product is a must when you have a new puppy hehe. Or, you could use plain old soda water. That neutralises the smell, so the puppy doesn't learn to go back to where it went before. Just remember not to scold the puppy if she toilets in the wrong place - that's your fault, not hers! ;) Ignore little mistakes and just take her outside and praise her when she goes in the right place. shana
Thanks, Don't worry I know its not her fault I just want to know I am cleaning up after her in a way that wont attract her back to the same place. I have heard there are some sprays like one called Piss odd but I don't know if they work or not. Vicki Edited September 1, 2007 by shana
Georgie-boy
White vinegar! Cheap, easy & doesn't stain. Blot the excess wee - pour on the vinegar & blot off. ;)
dogdogdog
Vinegar always does the trick for me. I blot up the wet spot and then just pour the vinegar on it and let it dry naturally.
disorder
We use a product called "urine off" I'm pretty sure most pet places stock it. It can even be used under a black light to find spots you may have missed.
Lowchenlove
When Tyke was a pup white vinegar worked for me, also used nilodor to eliminate any lingering smells. First I would soak up the wee with kitchen towel, would stand on it to ensure I had got as much up as possible - amazing how much more comes out. Am also a huge fan of cleaning carpets regularly. Nova'sMum
If you can get hold of a Slurpex get one! Worth their weight in gold. Great around kids or pets for clean ups. It is basically a chamois block. I pour water onto the mess and then use the Slurpex to remove the moisture. It's brilliant. I then go over the spot with Urine off just to make sure there's no residual urine smell. Hope this helps.

Archie&C
I have been using the white vinegar and it seems to be working to a certain extent. I make sure I blot then clean with the vinegar when Archie isn't watching but when he goes back to the spot he can smell the vinegar and goes a little mental... i think he just gets it up his nose and he does some flips! Is it possible that he likes the smell of the vinegar and continues to return to the spot? Is there any products that you can use to discourage puppy from going in a certain places?
