As above.

I did a search but couldnt find the specific answer about it.

IS it safe for dogs??

I have a 6.5month old GSD pup and a nearly 3 year old GSD x Lab/Retriever.

Should i supplement or no?

They are fed RC GSD Junior and Labrador adult food.

They get their fair share of bones, meat, chicken, eggs and fishy stuff like sardines.

I dont think they need it now but would like to take preventative measures where possible.

Any thoughts??

Thanks!

I don't know about giving ones for humans. I would much prefer to give ones specially formulated for dogs. There are plenty on the market. I have given the Aristopet brand to my dogs. They are beef flavoured...the tablets not the dogs. LOL

from what I know msm is antinflamatory meaning a pain killer (well this is how I understand it, can someone correct me if Im wrong pls)

I give glucosamine and chondroitin to my dogs, as a preventative measure.

My boy at 8 years old gets msm as well, for his arthritism, but I dont give it to my 1.5 yo girl.

But as if this will harm your dogs - no it wont.

I doubt it will hurt your dog, but I don't actually think it is that cheap when compared to JointGuard (the same thing but formulated for dogs). The Natures Way version of that Blackmores product has less of the active ingredients...you would have to give 10g a day of the Natures Way product but only 5g of the JointGuard to get the same dosage. Therefore, it doesn't work out cheaper...in fact I think the JointGuard worked out a little bit better value for money.

MSM is a natural anti inflammatory

Joint Guard definately works out cheaper than giving the human ones, Mum's lab is on Joint Guard and we did the maths & discussed it with the vets, you end up giving more of the human on (as someone else mentioned!)
