Choosing The Right Clippers

Is this really a necessity to buy a decent dryer? Do you mean like one from clipperworld, the cheapest dryer there seems to be $200 ? (Lazor RX). When I bath her I try her with just a normal human hair dryer, will this not get her dry enough for me to clip?

If its going to cost 200 for clippers then 100 for scissors then 200 for a dryer = 500 I may as well just go to the groomers ? Are scissors and a dryer needed to do a basic job, I don't mind if she ends up a bit scruffy looking as long as her hair gets short enough not to get so dirty..

If you just want to clean your pup up and make her look a bit smarter, I wouldn't get too carried away with all these expensive "extras". Some decent clippers and your normal hair dryer are perfectly fine. To tell you the truth, I am using $30 hair cutting scissors from the chemist and some $15 blending scissors from city famers. And I think the end result is about as nice as when I was spending $70 at the groomers!

Don't get me wrong, my dog has had some lovely clips done from a good groomer before and it's easy to tell the difference with a quality groom. But she has also had some average clips from other groomers...but I'm not very fussy as long as she looks clean and smart, I'm happy :mad

I'm the opposite, I love my dogs to look well groomed - I clip them to accentuate their good points and minimise their bad points - when I see a badly groomed poodle It is all I can do no to kidnap the dog and give it a fabulous haircut. :mad:eek:
