[My Boo]

Hi I'm new here. I have a question and I need help asap.

I have 2 dogs, both 10 months old both desexed male poodles, we got one pup first then decided to get another later on at the 6 months of age. The first dog was perfect until we got the 2nd dog. He's got a couple of issues he has excitement pee if we dont attend to him first, he'll pee if we pay the 2nd dog attention, he's also taken to marking everything including the second dog. I have tried ignoring the behaviour, to catching him in the act and rousing on him, to separating the pair and spending separate time with other the other one watching.

Just when we think he's gotten better I will pick up the second dog and his head will just stink of pee...

Can anyone tell me what I can do to get over this behaviour?

Has anyone had this happen with their pets?

Your advice would be much appreciated. TIA

Maybe he is not deliberately peeing on the other dogs head, but when he's weeing the other dog is having a sniff and getting wee on his head ?? Occasionally mine do this and its gross, I know, but I've just gotta catch them and call the other one away so he doesn't get weed on. Now they tend to wait until the other has finished and then wee on top of it.

They're both very young dogs, and are probably in the early stages of working out whos boss, hence the marking. Weeing when excited it common in pups, and I've even seen 4 year old dogs do this.

I think it will all settle down when they mature a little more and know whos who in the pack ranking.

I do agree with spending time with each dog seperately though. IMO I think dogs need to learn to be a little dependent and not rely on the other one too much. It also helps the dogs bond with you, and not just each other.
