Chicken Wings

Is your puppy a Pitbull? If so he/she should have no trouble with whole chicken wings. Banjo my Staffy puppy could eat whole chicken wings by 12 weeks old.

Just keep an eye on her while she eats. Make sure she chews them.

If a pup gulps them too fast I used to hold the other end of the wing and that stops them from eating too fast.

It also gets them used to hands around their food but in a positive way.

(I'm saying she because the pup in your avatar looks so cute-must be female :) )

when feeding chicken wings to a 17week old pup should they be cut into pieces?

You should have no problems. I have fed Shih Tzu pups from 6 weeks on whole chicken wings, never bothered to cut them at all. They can manage more than we give them credit for. Just keep an eye on the pup until you can feel comfortable.

if you are worried wedge it into a treat ball- i have an everlast ball- and then they have to work hard at it and cant gulp it all at once.

I satrted giving my 8m staffy x frozen ones so it takes 30 seconds now rather than 5!!
