vicky39
I am looking for puppy schools in the Heidelberg area. After puppy school I would like to continue on with classes. So far I have found three schools, Australian Dog Training, Warringal Obedience School and Kintala. Does anyone have any experience with any of these schools or would recommend others close by? helen
I know several people who have been to both Kintala and Warringal and have been very happy
Sne
I am looking for puppy schools in the Heidelberg area. After puppy school I would like to continue on with classes. I go to the Heidelberg ADT. I think that it was a great place for me to start training, but if I were to get another dog I'd chose perhaps a different club that was more trial-training focused, and maybe more flexible in training styles especially now that I've learnt about different methods that have suited one of my dogs much better. The club was great for me cause it is walking distance from home and provided a good basis for training, and I can continue to go there for the dogs life - though ADT is pretty costly. It is great for the socialisation aspect of training though. I've heard great things about the Warringal club.
dogdude
Waringal used to be a branch of Northern Obedience Dog Club (Moonee Ponds). I went there for a look, but chose Northern. There is also another large club that trains around the corner from Waringal at Bundoora Park. Can't remember the name (starts with "W"). It is not VCA affiliated, but it is a large club. Unfortunately, the classes are a little large, but the organisers were nice people. Very welcoming considering I was from another club having a sticky beak. They even let me join into class for the day. That club is not trial focussed, but it does have some instructors with trialling backgrounds. Cant remember which morning they train though? either Sat or Sun morning.
