fidelis Border Collies
Hi Guys Well I took the plunge today and run in my first 3 sheep trial to say i was nervous is an understatement. I got there walked Panda then took her down and walked her around the fence line in the direction I would be sending her, then walked back let her watch a few dogs so she could see where the sheep came out then put her away. I was on mid morning so when there was still 4 dogs to run I went and got her out of the trailer did the fence walk again then sat down the end and watched the last few dogs run. the dog just before me crossed so I was in quicker then I thought. Anyway she did a nice cast and stop. while at the fun day on sat she wasn't stopping at the top but today she did. she did a lovely run got all the way to the Free standing Y Shute and was just getting them thru and one slipped around the side so i had to bring them all back and re do it, then on to the bridge she did some lovely work and slowly pushed the sheep over the bridge. I was told by the judge I was off course as I didn't follow the line of the cones on the way to the pen so readjusted myself and got to the pen, had a few goes almost got them in one but they slipped around the side at the last moment. I ended up running out of time before i penned them so ended up with a score of 58. To say i am please is an under statement I would have been pleased to just get the cast right but to get to the pen. One very happy trialler. Panda is a lovely dog to work and very honest she did 3 turn tails (I knew she did this when I got her) which cost me a few points but for my first go I am very happy. Looks like I may try and few more this year. Tracey and Old Mill Panda

fidelis Border Collies
Well done Tracey, that's a great result, especially since you haven't had her long. Thanks Vicki Yes she is a very honest dog I am going to give Lad and Abigail a run next 3 sheep trial even just to do cast, Lift and Fetch as that is all I wanted to do with Panda. I also picked up another dog (I need another dog like a hole in the head) but she would have been shot if no one had taken her so i will see if we jel if not she would make someone a nice dog to trial or do any performance event with. She is mostly white with a black ear, very nice breeding but until I get the pedigree I wont be able to tell full details. Tracey
