I love Jacks
My 16 month old dog's molar just broke off after he grabbed his toy bone I was holding. You can see the gums where the tooth used to live. Has anyone experienced this before? I don't know if it's a baby tooth or whether he knocked out an adult tooth, but it just fell out and he tried to eat it before I grabbed it. He enthusiastically - he's a terrier after tall - plays tug of war with that bone and another toy, so I don't know what just happened. Scarlet
By 16mths he should have lost his baby teeth nearly 10 / 12 mths ago. A tooth would not normally fall out in ordinary play unless there was already something wrong with it. Did you see it after it came out and did it have a root on it? Can you only see soft tissue in his mouth or do you think there is some root left behind? If it was a permanent tooth and root is left in the gum it can become infected. You are probably not really going to know until you visit the vet (and get it x-rayed?). If you have the tooth take it to show the vet.
