indi_dog
So, who is going??? I'm entered on the Sunday for HT, I'd go both days but stupid me decided to work on Saturdays!!! Ohhh I hope the weather is nice, I hated slogging around in that mud at the Border Collie club's herding trial a few weeks back.
superminty
I've entered Cash in PT on Sunday only, should be interesting, he really is a livewire. Been working really well but just will not stop! I've been getting pretty fit though from chasing him around the paddock trying to catch the little bugger See ya there! Fingers crossed for weather. Mud makes it even harder to tackle slippery kelpies ;)
MrsD
Good luck with it to both of you, Indi Girl, you will be fine with HT, just take so deep breaths & don't do what I did & be so nervous that my voice went al squeaky . Superminty, ahhhhhh the headache of almost every person who has a working dog - how to get them to stop ;) . We are facing up for our PT at the Cattle Dog & Kelpie club trial up here on the 25th & 26th Aug. Im pretty confident that we can pass, but you know how there is always that tiny bit of worry that something will go drastically wrong . I need to get his PT there otherwise I wont be able to enter the State Championships on the 8th & 9th of Sept as there are no test classes only trial classes on offer & I want to run him in A Course Started. indi_dog
I have been chasing Indi around the yard working on our STOPPPPP!!!!! Fingers crossed for friendly sheepies! Mrs D - I don't know if I will even be able to speak during HT :D Good luck everyone.
t(AD)pole
I will probably be coming- but just to watch. Do you know if I can bring my dog even though we are not entered? She would be on a lead at all times of course.

As it is at KCC Park, bringing your own dog along isn't a problem See you all there and good luck everyone
indi_dog
See you there Tadpole. I will be the one telling my dog to calm down, I'm trying to teach her to relax a little around sheepies when she is not working them, but without ruining her enthusiasm (which everyone is warning me about) Fingers crossed it's not swampy out there on the weekend. We're still working on our stop, Indi thinks stop means "oh, if I just creep forward reeeaaaally slowly maybe she won't notice I am moving...." indi_dog
We got one of our Herding Test passes today yeah  And we got some pretty most Promising Border Collie and Promising Dog sashes for the test class too. I had lots of trouble with those sheepies today, they were pretty fast!!! And could the ground get any more boggy in the yard, my boots were getting sucked off my feet

superminty
Thanks indi_dog. Cash is swanning around the yard looking all pleased with himself coz he proved Mum wrong - he CAN stop! He always does this, just as I convince everyone that he is the devil incarnate, he comes out and does something right! You've got a lot of dog to work with Indi there, she's super speedy! Sure you'll be right with those stops once the footing gets a bit easier  Edited August 12, 2007 by superminty

I can't believe how muddy it was either but at least we were fortunate enough for the rain to hold off, it was hailing in Cranbourne which is only 5 mins away so we were bloody lucky. And boy has he turned into such a hunka chunka boy Rosie got a PT pass on Saturday, I never in a million years new she could be that quick On Sunday she decided that it was more fun to chase than listen to her mother so I retired her. At least she was laughing and enjoying herself though. It really was a fantastic weekend and great to meet so many of you Edited August 13, 2007 by Riles
indi_dog
superminty you will have to get Cash to share with Indi the secret of stopping!!!!! I can't keep up with her, I was so sweaty and stinky just from those few minutes in the yard. Rosie looked like she was having a ball on Sunday, she's such a pretty girl. Congrats on the pass! It looked tough out there with those silly sheepies who would run through one chute and then run straight back to the gate to wait to be let out. Is anyone going to the Aussie Shepherd herding trial in September? I'm going to try and get my second Herding Test pass, I could have tried for the pass on Sunday but the ground was atrocious. I felt sorry for the people with the Old English Sheepdogs, their dogs were COVERED in mud. wolfgirl Indi says thankyou to Pearl she must have told Pearl that I never feed her
Riles
Someone had DEFINATELY given those sheep Red Bull the morning of the trial In one breath I felt bad for the OES' but in the same breath I was ;) Can't imagine how long it took to get them clean and dry once they got home We will be at the ASC trial, you will blitz your HT, lets pray the ground isn't as muddie. Is anyone going to the VHA one this weekend?
indi_dog
No I'd love to go to the VHA trial but I'm an idiot and I work on Saturdays (which is the day they are doing the tests). I'm always cranky at work on a Saturday when I know I'm missing out too. I so can't wait to do a pre trial test in the big kids paddock
