Chicken Neck Bones

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I give my pups chicken necks every morning with no problems.

But, over the last couple of days one of my pups has been a bit off with runny poos and today she threw up some chicken neck bones.

Are the chicken neck bones bad for her? Should I stop giving my pups chicken necks or does this happen from time to time?

Any advice would be great.

Thank you!

Mel

Hi , I asked a similar question the other day. Unless the chicken necks were off, I reckon she might have some other kind of stomach upset.

When we got our puppy, she was already being fed chicken necks, so don't think that was a problem, however with the fresh food we gave her, raw chichen and veges, i think we were just feeding her too much. Took her to the vets who saind what we were feeding her was fine, but should only give her very small amounts until her stomach got used to it. She gave us something called Scourban and said just give her plain cooked chicken until her stomach improves.

Sway used to bring them up if i gave her to many.

2-3 she was fine with any more then that would bring them up.

Now at 11 months she can steal a pack of them and have no issues

Could just be a combination of an upset stomache and just too much too quick, fed my dogs buch of sausages that weren't 100% found out the rotty wasn't chewing when she brought up intact 'fat' sausages.

I have to say, my man was bought up on chicken necks too. I got him at 5 months, I now find that he cannot tollerate too many. Maybe 2 a week. He spent some time with his breeder and she reverted to his old diet, he was 2 then, and he had constant runny poos. She couldn't understand it, but when he came back home. No chicken and he was right again. So, I think you should go with the flow, keeping in mind that TODAY'S chicken is not the natural food that us oldies are used to. They are now full of chemicals, and maybe our dogs can't tolerate the chemicals. LOL
