Fit for a King
Better still - go watch him and his wife "train" and then decide for yourself.....
4leggedvariety
Yes, used to read the articles he writes in a publication called TOP DOG years ago. Also met him at a schutzhund training workshop By Gottfired Dildei (American German) about 12 years ago in Brisbane. I think he trains search & rescue and cadaver dogs, Bloodhounds or something. What else he does, I don't know. He seemed to be very knowledgable as well as open-minded about all different training techniques when we were speaking. But God, that was years ago. Sardog
This thread is interesting. Most of the time if a poster asks for a reference regarding a behavourist etc there are various degrees of information given. I would hope those who have given either cryptic one word or one line answers can give more information of their personal contact with Craig Murray. Hearsay is very damning to ones reputation. I had personal contact with both Craig and Steve Austin many years ago when I was working with the VicPolice ColdCase Unit with my cadaver dog and found both above persons knowledgeable and helpful in this area. belgenbeau
I first met Craig Murray about 10 years ago - I attended a couple of his seminars and I found him to be very informative and knowledgeable. He certainly was able to give me insight and assistance into the trouble I was having with my Tervueren at the time. I had been to other so called trainers claiming years of Aust and O/S RAFF experience but at the end of the day they were scared of my dog and did nothing to help me except take my money. No-one ever agrees 100% with any trainers methods - and we know that no 2 dogs are the same to train but I certainly found Craig pretty knowledgeable AND flexible when it came to the dogs he assessed and trained. After a period of time where I have not had contact with Craig or Tracy - I recently attended one of their seminars and then had them assess one of my Malinois and Groenendael litters. These people have never stated that they know all of the answers. We even had a discussion regarding socialisation and they agreed that they had changed their mind on how much is required up to 16 weeks and it seems my thoughts from the last 2 litters supported their already changing views. BUT, don't listen to me - give them a try yourself. If you listen to the bashers you may just miss out on what I am sure would result in a huge gain in knowledge and understanding of you dog. And I am also sure that there are a number of disabled kids and adults MORE than willing to sing the praises of Craig Murray and Tracy and their ability to get the most out of a dog. Erny
Oops! Just re-entered this thread after a long absence. My one word post at the very beginning of the thread was simply in direct answer to the OP - it was intended to have been a 'dry' answer, not one with any malice behind it. Yes - I have heard of Craig Murray. But to go further : I don't know him, his methods, his capabilities or his personableness myself. Have heard mixed feedback - but then you get that of many trainers.
