Ellis
It seems vet clinics offer puppy preschool but now it seems some pet supplies places do to. Has anyone been to a puppy preschool run by "Petstock"? Just wondering if all puppy preschools are the same?
Cosmolo
All puppy pre schools are definitely not the same- its important that you check who is running the school, their qualifications and/ or experience as well as maximum/ minimum numbers in a class and how the classes are run. Are the pups always off lead? Always on lead? Ask if you can watch the way the class is run before enrolling. Is the instructor a dog trainer, vet nurse or sometimes both? I would go with the dog trainer or both every time. I run puppy school at a petstock and at a few vets- petstocks are a franchise so the puppy schools will be run by different groups/ trainers. helen
I agree. A lot of vets have people with qualifications from Delta Society so you can be pretty sure they are going to be very good instructors - http://www.deltasocietyaustralia.com.au/cg...ctors_index.htm - I have done classes with my own dogs with Delta qualified instructors who have been brilliant. There is also ndtf course qualifications but I have never attended an agility class with an instructor who has done this course - I have been in a class where a fellow student has done this course and her dogs are great. suki's mum
I work for Petstock in Toowoomba, and we have a qualified trainer for our puppy pre-school. She also does Puppy pre-school and obedience at other Vet clinics as well. But just suss it out first before you decide on a place for training.
