jayakita
Hi, My name is Jayde, I am in WA and need to ask people some questions about Akita Inu dogs, I am about to buy on from a breeder in WA and need to know if someone who has shown these dogs before what type of equipment I need, I have been told I need a crate, hydrobath, etc. would you know of anything else you may need to be able to show Akita dogs? what have you other breeders bought for your dog enable to show them? does anyone know of someone who is selling a hydrobath?? Thankyou, Jayde
Akitaowner
i titled my boy and bought very little. I couldnt afford to just buy a hydrobath - so just used to bath him in our bath and if done from an early age its fine - they settled very quickly - i would recommend having a second pair of hands the first few times tho! i use combs rather than slicker brishes (i find it less damaging to the coat) I would sugget buying a dryer - i didnt have one and found the going tough. a big crate is a must for the showground and some thing to shade yourself and pup. almost everyone at shows has a gazeebo for this purpose. a table is very useful - especially if its a wet show - keeps them out of the dirt!! train pup to be groomed on the table it saves a lot of backache! i also had a ground stake - so when hes out of the crate you dont need to hold the lead all the time. wheres your pup from? who are the parents?
