radish
Hi all, We are looking for any obedience clubs that you can reccomened in the ringwood/croydon ansd surrounding areas. My BF has a 6 month old shih tzu, i have a 3 year old whippet x and our good friend has a 2 year olds shih x we are wanting to go somewhere we can take them all for basic ob and some xtra socialisation. Weeknights / flexbile classes would be great !! all dogs have basic manners, eg sit, come ( most of the time) walk on leads etc but we would like to refine and have some fun! The youngest also is having a few issues when walking out and getting a bit nervous when he sees strange dogs so some help with that is also another reason for going. any suggestions welcomed. Ant one had experience with "teachers Pets" in croydon? have a flyer from them but dont know much about them.. thanks Edited June 28, 2007 by radish
JulesP
I've been going to Croydon Obedience club for about 15 years on and off. It is a pretty good club and very reasonabley priced. Website is at www.cdodc.com.au
PossumCorner
... we would like to refine and have some fun! ... Don't know Teachers Pets. Cost-wise Croydon would be the most reasonable probably. Like JulesP said, check the website and come to see us on Sunday morning around 9.00. Don't bring the dogs, first day to look around is best to be dog-free, so you can go into the club-house, talk to the staff, watch some classes etc. It is on Silcock Reserve, turn into James St off Lincoln Road. Classes are mainly on Sunday, 9.30 til 12.00 - some of the dogsports, flyball and agility, also train on weeknights or Saturdays. Also worth looking at the flyball website as Croydon Rockets are part of the CDODC - if your dogs are doing some basic obedience already they will breeze through the mandatory basic obedience classes at Club, then you can train for agility or flyball like you said to have some fun with your dogs, and go on to be competitive if you want to. Flyball is at http://www.flyball.com/rockets/

Arya
I am not a member of Croydon, being too far away, but I know it to be a great club with a terrific reputation, great trainers and all I speak to highly recommend it. It's a not-for-profit place too so it isn't too expensive. Good luck on finding the right place for you
