BC
I dont know whether this has been discussed before, but does anyone know what is in the Advantage, for example, that makes the dogs hate it so much. Mine run and hide when I get them out of the cupboard, and a few dogs I groom and give their monthly treatments to are exactly the same. They cringe when it is put on and stick their tails between their legs. Does is smell really bad to them or is there something in it that causes some funny feeling when it is applied ?? I'm stumped as to why they hate is sooooo much.

My staffy x hates the rain, but it is my BC who is the worse and he always runs around in the rain getting muddy. I dunno, its a mystery. Is there a sherlock holmes out there that can solve this for us
Poodle wrangler
I use Advantix on my 2 and they don't seem to mind me putting it on. mysterious. I wish they'd develop something that does both flea and ticks and isn't a spot-on. The mini poodle has very dense fur and it's hard to get it all on the skin! Kavik
Maybe it stings a bit? One of mine is not overly keen either.
morgan
Maybe it actually makes him feel bad? Personally if I take any drugs my body always protests - even antibiotics make me feel unpleasantly different within about ten minutes of taking them. wagsalot
I use Frontline and Riley stands there happiley while I put that on. However I remember watching a show once where they said some of the flea treatments can cause a reaction on the dogs skin. The dog that was on tv just got really itchy from it.
