Luco
Hi all My 3 year old maltese x shih tzu has the runs and has since Thursday. Starved her for a day and no improvement so took her to the vet. The vet thinks it is a bacterial gastro so has prescribed antibiotics and a bland diet and electrolyte solution. She is also farting like I have never smelt before The worst part is that the vet has advised me to keep her separated from my pup. This is going to be difficult because when we are home they are both with us. But such is life. I hope she gets better soon!
shekhina
Poor little girl Do you have a crate you could separate the dogs with while they're inside?
Luco
yeah the pup sleeps in the crate at night so dont really want to crate her (as I am trying to teach her crate = sleep) but I am taking turns having Lucy in the laundry and the pup out, then put the pup in the bathroom and Lucy out. I took him to the vet and they gave him a needle to settle his belly down also some (pink) stuff to stop him from poo'ing... And it stoped him right away i dont think he done a poo for days lol .. He told me its like a doggy bug, My pups sister had it the week b4 hand.... Worse thing about having along haired dog, i dont know how many times i washed his bum hair lol Yeah i was also told to give im cooked rice and boiled chicken for 7 days....
