Sonovagun
Hi guys, I have a 25kg BC x Collie she will be 12 months at the end of July and I am wondering should I change her over from puppy food to adult food now? Her puppy food will run out this soon so is a good time to switch. I also have a 5kg Mini foxie who is now 9 months old, when is it recommended to give her adult food? Thanks xSx
birgulparis
Sorry I wont be much help but this is what I was told with my two. Paris my frenchbulldog (9.6kg) can be feed adult food by 12months as thats when she is considered an adult. Dante my GSD will need to be 2yrs old by the time he can start eating adult. Something to do with being a larger breed, and the way his bones grow. Hope you get the aswer you need.
luvabull
Im pretty certain it's 1-7yrs small and medium breeds 2-5yrs for large breeds 25kg+ is considered a large breed Edited June 23, 2007 by luvabull
ShesaLikeableBiBear
We change our shelties over at 12 months, in some cases it is recommended with the Large and Giant Breeds that they remain on puppy food until 15-18 months.
Flaves
I was told the same 15-18 months. One more bag for your BC won;t hurt and your little one when its one.
Sonovagun
Thanks guys, I will stick to the puppy food for now. Are there any premium puppy brands which assist with the coat and skin? Kalie has dry skin.
Flaves
Nutro is very good for skin conditions. You could try that or Eagle Pack Holistic. Both are fantastic. I feed my 3 a mixture of the 2, they are mixed in teh dry food tub together so they get 50/50 i would say and they look great.
