When I do my siggies, I actually do them at 4x the size and reduce them once finished. It makes it much easier to work with and the end result is much cleaner... I agree, the circles look very 'amateur', the ovals look a bit more effective. I'm not really sure what I was after, just something simple, but 'pretty'.
