Aussie Brags

Recommended Posts

Hi, DOL's and Aussie lovers. Still on cloud 9 after Flyball nationals, just wanted to let everyone know that Ballarat Eureka Sovereigns WON Div. 3. Jazz and Hades were both members of this team and both ran fautless! Very proud of Jazz as she ran every heat in every race for our team and also got her FMX (flyball master excellent title) at the Aust flyball championships. Almost forgot, my dog Sadie (a Beagle, not an Aussie) was in the winning team as well and also did a great job!

Jazz, Hades and Sadie at nationals (hopefully)

Oh boy - do I have brags . I have probably posted them all individually, but here is a collective of how our year has gone.

We finished 2006 - with 2 CCD passes and a couple of fails due to the dratted sit-stays :D.

March 2007 - we began our obedience trialling career with a bang - 1st trial out (Southern) and we walked away with 2 CCD passes, only needing one for our title.... equal 2nd and 1st respectively but on countbacks we got 3rd & 2nd.

A week later we went to our last CCD trial and walked away with a score of 97/100 and a 1st place .

Went straight into novice - failed our first trial with pure bad luck (shook in the SFE) but he then came back at our next trial to gain 2 passes and our final pass 2 weeks later.... so we achieved our CD title in 3 weeks - with 2 first places and a 2nd place :love:.

Now taking a break, but I'm missing obedience, so probably going back to start open training on Sunday.

As for agility - at our 2nd agility trial we achieved our first Jumping pass with 2nd place.... again on Saturday - we achieved our 2nd Jumping pass and 3rd place. It was unfortunate that we didn't have more passes (and our title!) as Leo just 'clipped' ONE bar in the other 3 runs . We'll see how we go at Sunbury.

I know everyone is probably sick of hearing me brag, but I am just SO proud of my boy - couldn't have asked for a better dog to introduce me into the 'dog sport' world :).

As for Kinta - she has only been showing - 1 MPIG under her belt and a rather boring 6pt challenge..... I am sure she has much more potential though as she gets older and more mature.

Astroboy - well done on your endeavors on the weekend! Looking forward to hearing more!!

Way to go Astro Boy 2 and members of the Ballarat Eureka Sovereigns

I bet you had a great time at the Nationals too.

How was the trip over and back?

My brag is that Gambit passed his Track 1 test with a Grading of VERY GOOD even though he missed a sock.

I'll let Yildiz do her own bragging, she has lots to brag about.

I have taken Gambit out of Obedience for this year. He still isn't happy when in the Obedience trial ring after what happened to him last year at Geelong Obedience Dog C obedience Trial.

We will be back in 2008.

I'll more than likely see you at a herding clinic or trial before an Obedience Trial.

Congratulations on your success too.

Aren't Aussie's just too good at many things as well as being a delightful dog who loves the world and all that is in it.

Except for when things are changed around - My fridge died yesterday and I had another one brought in without taking out the broken one. Gambit didn't like the new arrangements, he wouldn't go into the kitchen even when I rewarded him for coming into the kitchen with some yummy treats.

The old fridge is sitting in the rumpus room now. Gambit is happy with that arrangement as it isn't where his food loves.

Thanks guys! :)

Leopuppy I would love to see Leo in the obedience ring one day. He sounds like a very clever puppy! Your CD title sounded like my Cosmo's (my pappillion) he won the encouragement ring, then 2 weeks later went to Gippsland for 3 days of trials and came home with his CD :p Isn't it great when you get a really great, comitted dog.

Gamby - Congrats on your test 1 pass :o I need to get Sadie back into tracking (will probably enter Ballarat) She misses it terribly. When coming home from Queensland, we stopped at a state forest, and i am sure Sadie was looking for the start flag. We had a great trip to nationals, we arrived the Sunday before, all the Ballarat Ellens hired a mini bus and our big trailer with Jazz,Dash,Hades,Fonzie and Sadie. Tiger was in the bus. The dogs went to doggy day care for 3 of the days (which they loved) and they were really relaxed going into the comp. and then we left on the Tuesday, travelled to the blue mountains and Jenouin caves, then spent 2 nights in Merrimbula visiting relatives, and got home on the Saturday. Had a great time! (apart from the weather)

Tollersowned - you guys had great racing as well and kept us on our toes. Thanks for all your support over the weekend. Can't wait for next year :)

ShelleyBeggs - Good Luck with your Aussie hunting! You wont be dissappointed, and your right it is a nice vibe!

LOL - Thanks Shelly Beggs - I love Kinta but the judges didn't this week .

Frustrating coz she comes so close - I think this is her 4th or 5th Reserve Challenge in a row (good, but no points!). Both judges on the weekend were tossing between her and the other girl(s) - but always went to the other

Yeah - Cricket is her 1/2 Brother - both are sired by "Gr CH Leesway Smokin Ash"

Maybe I should cut the bottoms of 2 bottles of coke (the glass bottles that is) and make them some glasses. Kinta is just gorgeous....

Cricket is gorgeous too......although the pic looks a little cartoon like!

*soaking up the vibe*

Hope I can start posting in here soon with my own brags............

More Aussie brags for me.

Went to Sunbury Agility trial on Saturday in the cold, wet and rain.... not exactly ideal conditions! I had an obnoxious dog in the AM (the word 'tunnel suck' comes to mind - he actually bypassed obstacles directly infront to get the darned tunnel!).... Last run of the day was in rain, knee deep in MUD and it was soooo cold! Result - Jumping Pass, 1st place (only dog to pass!) and our JD TITLE!!!!!!!

Woohoo! What a clever boy  :D

Sorry - just had to brag - this makes 3 titles since March 07 :)
