B-Q
okay, so busters DA outside the yard. thing is, once a dog comes inside the yard, he's okay with them. maybe slightly standoffish at frst but otherwise fine. outside the yard he is so different. he is constantly very serious (stress?) but he LOVES going out for walks. i was outside with him then and he could see the dog next door through slits in the fence, he just sat and started, didn't snarl or anuything, slight bristles up at first but i said his name and they went down. he didn't get close to the dog, he just wanted to look, 15 monutes after it walked away he kept starting through the fence. he had another dog taht he made relaly good friends with through the fence. so i'm thinking... security issue? could he feel really insecure and stressed outside and thats why he'a agro, a kind of "i'll get you befor you get me" thing. he's had probably 10 other dogs introduced to him inside the yard before and not one issue. but he's so different outside. on leash he snarls and lunges etc. but he's met some dogs offleash and he does a very dominant stance but no bristles or snarling. whatya reckon? any other explanations? i was thinking of maybe getting him to meet different dogs, in our house, on our driveway, then in our street and getting further from our house. thing is, i don't know that many people. lol

tramissa
You really need to be speaking to a professional trainer about this - no-one will be able to say without seeing Buster first.

K9: From this description it appears your dog is fear aggressive, but thats without seeing the dog. He has more confidence in his own territory & thats why the dogs are less stimulating to his defence drive.. BL: he's had probably 10 other dogs introduced to him inside the yard before and not one issue. but he's so different outside. on leash he snarls and lunges etc. but he's met some dogs offleash and he does a very dominant stance but no bristles or snarling. K9: this simply means your not training him in the area that he has the problem, more training in your yard will not help at all.. You really need to have your dog assessed professionally, then have a program designed that you can work with & then you will see some results...
