The person is a smoker but that would not explain the behaviour outside the house. The people are moving house soon and it will be interesting how she behaves then.

Thank you for all the replies. There must be something Chloe is frightened of. He does have light eyes but so does dh. However he is very tall and big boned so Chloe might be intimidating. I am curious about what Chloe is sensing.

Hi. When my husband walks our GSP around the block she goes very submissive and nervous when going past a house. We know the people there and they are very nice. She normally greets them and is happy. Today the father/husband helped us bring something heavy into the house. Chloe showed the same signs. Did a few warning barks. She was cowering and running away. When my husband called she would not come. She was not growling or being aggressive. I am just wondering why she would be acting this way. Do I have something to worry about.

Chloe loves gardening. Pulling the Camellia flowers of. Pulling out plants. Digging under compost bin. Must be tasty under there. All the plants she has pulled out are my favouites. She is a very naughty girl. We may have some hope for the front garden

;) Erny. I am really sorry for the loss of your companion Kal. She is resting in peace. -
I only really want to crate her inside when I cannot supervise her 100% and don't want to put her outside. Another option I might do is have a baby gate in the kitchen door. I have just read all the good things about crating and how dogs love it so I though it would be a good idea. Chloe is sleeping inside at night now too.

Chloe does have amber eyes. They are so sweet and cheeky.

Last night OH sort of caved in and we put Chloe in the bathroom. The Laundry isn't an option for us because its too small. I think she was more upset in the bathroom. Well she ended u p on her rug beside me in the bedroom. We had a great night sleep just had to take her out a few times. Even slept in until about 7:00.

She's beautiful. I love her eyes.

Thanks for the advice. BellasPerson I agree with the comparison to dog advice and baby advice there are so many opinions. I am organising some more pics

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure we will work things out as time goes on:) BellasPerson I agree with her wanting to be in the rain closer to us than in the kennel. The Kennel is actually closer to our living area but far from the back door. She is such a beautiful girl.

I posted in the training section. I hope its ok if I post here as well. Hi we have just brought home our new pup. My OH want s her to be outside during the night. He has built a great kennel for her. But some parts of the night she would rather sit at the back door step and cries. Which I understand she wants to be with us Is there a way to encourage her to stay in her kennel. Another question. Is it possible to be able to crate train her for during the day. Or is it too confusing for her being outside at night and partly inside during the day. Training dogs is a very new thing for me. By the way if I had my own way she would be inside during the night. I was thinking of getting this crate. Or is it easily damaged. She loves to chew http://www.ozpetshop.com.au/product_info.p...65a146c3130401a TIA

I'm looking forward to going out to the river I'm glad Devo is doing well and is getting into a routine.

Thanks Safado for the help. I hope she won't bark at everything. If so she will be in a lot . There is a park close to us where we can take her in the water. I'm sure she would enjoy it. At what age should we introduce water? I'm sure it would be an instinct thing.

Hi Devo. He should be ok outside if he is warm. I have read posts about crate training, which I have no experience with. Somebody posted this link about puppy training and I have found it helpful. http://www.k9events.com/pups1.htm

Thanks BellasPerson. Your Bella sounds so nice. I really nice sensitive personality. I was surprised to hear about the barking because it didn't match with my research. Thanks for the offer for information I will probably take you up on that offer later

Thanks Angelo for posting your encouraging outcome. Your GSP sounds really wonderful

IT will be so hard not to comfort the pup outside. I have had two children. I know what its like. Not very good at ignoring the crying. Thanks for your help

Hi. I think there is heaps more experienced people on this forum than me. I think as long as the dog has a shelter from the cold and the heat and has fresh water and food it should be fine. Also some breeds need different attention. If you take him out and play with him he should be fine. Maybe ask a question in the main discussion area to get some good ideas on the right breed for you My old dog loved being with my cat but he was a very indoors dog.
-
That reminds me of when I was little. On my tiny single bed my cat and dog would come and sleep on my bed. I loved it
-
If she does end up inside she could sleep on my sons bed. He would love that . I don't think the cat will be impressed though.
