Ziggy was only 9 years old when he went to the bridge last night. He had a stroke after having pneumonia for the past 5 days. He was a lovely dog who belonged to some very good friends of mine. Too young really. Fly free Ziggy

What Brand Of Scissors To Buy?
dogdogdog replied to BittyMooPeeb's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have a straight set that were made by Nova. Got them through a hairdressing friend. They work a charm. And of course can be sharpened. -
Strange question I know but why don't you just have him neutered? Why are you thinking chemical castration? He will then be able to settle down coz his hormones aren't going all over the place. It could be the answer.

So sad for your loss. Run pain free girls -
When I got my beddies I certainly didn't realise the amount of work I would have. My previous dog was an English Springer Spaniel that I would clip and groom myself. It is now 6 months since my two got clipped coz last time I used a number 10 instead of a number 5. By mistake. So this weekend I have a big job of bathing and clipping both my two. How they look at the end of it is a bit hit and miss but I figure each time I do it I improve. They get brushed every day and still end up with the occasional knot. My boy especially has such soft hair that it can end up matted in just a couple of days if you are not on top of it. Or I could get my sister to do them. But she doesn't know how to clip a beddie at all. She is a groomer by the way.

My girl still gets them quite often. I usually just tickle and roughhouse her until it is over. Doesn't take long.

Do You Clip Your Own Doggie?
dogdogdog replied to Becky in Oz's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I do both my Bedlingtons and although they don't look like showdogs they turn out fine. And if I clip one part too short it will grow and that is how you learn. I originally began clipping when I had an English Springer Spaniel and was able to do a lovely job on her after I had done her a couple of years. -
What you need is a couple of fluffs. They sleep all night. Well trained.
