  1. Hi There We have a 2 year old Staffy (Indy) that we've spent an enourmous amount of time training, socialising, setting boundries etc. She's rewarded us by becoming a beautiful, loving, fun and obediant girl. Her recall is great, she doesn't jump, is good in the park, etc. Recently things have been changing. My wife is now 6 months pregnant and over the past month or so Indy is really starting to test us. On numerous occasions we've returned home and found that she's been sleeping on the sofa or our bed. She knows she's not allowed on either of these at any time and has never done this before. She's also become more demanding around meal time. She will often complain, grumble and sulk if we don't feed her immediately after we eat, and she's demanding much more attention than ever before. We're not giving her any less attention than before and she still comes to work with myself or my wife everyday. We're just feeling frustrated and a bit helpless because we've worked so hard and she was so good but now she's gone backwards. I'm sure she is sensing a change and is trying to establish her position in the household, we really want to correct this behaviour before the baby comes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks to everyone for all your repolies and advice. We fed our girl as per usual tonight and again she turned her nose up at the dry Science Diet. We took it away and put the dry food in the blender with her mince and some warm water. Turned it into a stodgy pulp but she ate almost everything, biggest meal she's had in a week. We'll keep going and blend it less and less as time goes by.
  3. We have a 17wk female staffy. We brought her from a breeder and followed her diet advice of lots of cooked vegies, fish, mince bones etc. Our girl loved all that but started to get an upset stomach, very gassy and loose stools. Our vet said to cut back on the prepared food, and put her on a good quality dry food with just bones and necks. We started on Eukanuba puppy and mixed it with her old food. She just picked out the meat and left the dry, we then tried Hills Science with the same result. We were advised to stop all other food and just feed her dry until she gets used to it, ("she will eat it when she's hungry enough" they said). She eats a few mouthfuls of the dry and stops. This has been going for 9 days now and our pup is definately not eating enough. She's only 7.8kg and looks small for her age. She is happy and healthy in every other way, and her stools and stomach are better. How can we get her to eat the dry food? Thanks for your help
