Thanks there are some good ideas. We're off on holidays in a few weeks and a friend will be staying to look after them. I won't be able to achieve much before we go so will try when we get back. I was hoping the collar would be a quick fix but it's not sounding like it.

Her hearing is amazing so no way I could do it without her knowing. Plus the Cavs all need snooding and crating and in the time I do this she's yelling her head off. The only way to stop her is to spray her with the water spray but the moment I put it down shes off again.

I have a five year old Lapphund who is just about perfect. Just one problem..... Her barking! It goes right through you and she uses her voice very loudly as I get the dogs meals ready. I've tried but living in a multi dog household it's just been beyond me to stop the behaviour. I've been considering getting an anti barking collar to try. Any suggestions or recommendations please?

I wondered the same thing. If you don't even refer to them by the correct name.

Thanks :) How will my old girl with kidney failure cope?

Yes I'm definitely treating Vienna! Searching this fluffer would be quite a job!

It seems that ticks have become a problem in an area I walk a couple of my dogs. I'd planned to just treat them with Advantix but people have pointed out that they may bring home ticks to the other dogs who have not been treated. I have a few oldies, the eldest has chronic kidney failure, and I prefer to keep the chemicals to a minimum where I can. I'm looking for suggestions of what people think are the safest options for tick prevention. Thanks :)

So sorry there is no answer but at least it wasn't a tumour so fingers crossed she'll be okay. -

Poor girl and poor you! I hope she's on the improve very soon. -
He should be able to take the pup if only been out a few days back to the shop and get a partial refund. Then again pup would be better off out of the pet shop and in a normal environment. Yes. I've not heard anything further so I don't know what he's done with her.

I thanks I've let them know. I don't know any details but nephew has wanted a dog all his life. I'm guessing they bought it in the hope of keeping it.

My nephew has just messaged me asking for help. Apparently he and girlfriend have bought a staffie cross pup from a pet shop a few days ago but can't keep her and urgently need to find her a home or rescue. I had no idea until now or I'd have had something to say about it Would there be a rescue he could contact please? She's only a couple of months old. TIA.

I looked into home prepared meals for Ingrid but was worried about getting the nutrition right. I'm feeding her Hills and she's doing really well on it. She was drinking a lot of water but that's improved a lot with the change of diet.

What Is The Worst Thing About Your Chosen Breed?

 I must say we see very little of that attitude from Vienna. She's quite biddable :) But the bark! Oh my it goes straight through you! -

Good news :)

How awful. Come on Pudding!

It's uterine prolapse. I have her on breeders terms and her breeder will be very disappointed but the vet considered her condition life threatening. It's a shame as she's a really lovely girl.
-
She's being desexed today

Thank you for the replies. Yes we've been to the vet. She's had an anti inflammatory injection, antibiotic injection and has a stitch in her vulva. Hopefully this will all help! I'm keeping a close eye on her and back to the vet in the morning. I've never experienced this before after many years and lots of girls in season. Poor little girl

I have a young girl here having her first season. She's nearly 2 weeks in and more swollen than any other I've ever seen. The vulva is open and I can see what looks a bit like a bubble there. She's quite happy but I've not seen any like this before so I'm a little concerned! Any advice please!
