Help Required - Naughty Dog

First off best to refer to him as a crossbreed. This forum promotes purebred dogs He sounds like a typical pup who needs training. How have you tried to housetrain him? -
Afghans Are Hard To Train Apparently. ;)

How gorgeous is he?! And such a happy boy I love it! -
Well I've had Vienna about a month now and I couldn't be happier. She has found her place amongst the Cavaliers and is a joy! I wasn't going to add a Lappie until my eldest girl died but when I started looking and came across the litter I was smitten

<So they get a lot of meaty bones, meat, a variety of offal, and only vegies once or twice a week. > That is BARF Diva bones and raw foods
-
Does he like raw bones? Most dogs do and they are a great starting point
-
I'm sur eI will but I MUST stop looking at those lovely CAVS of yours. I can't see one of those turning up at the pound. I wish! They do, unfortunately Most often with health problems though. The last one I got out of the pound I had to PTS cause her heart was very bad
-
Yes I've answered much the same as the other posters in the Cavalier thread Jed, I've never had a problem with Cav pups not being happy to eat dry food though. Mine all eat it well by the time they are ready to go to their new homes.

Phantom pregnancies are very common and nothing to worry about
-
I hope you find a wonderful new friend :D Good on you for giving a rescue dog a new home!

A friend's whippet went through quite a few library books when he was younger. My friend was getting a little embaressed fronting up at the library! :D He is such a character.

Question For Breeders About Pet Stores.
Gretel replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Is that something designed to get you to fall in love with the puppy and buy it the next day??? Who could give a puppy back after a day? I reckon they would make quite a few sales that way I would never, ever, ever sell pups to a pet shop. -
Di one of the best things for removing dead hair is one of those really cheap mitts you can pick up in reject shops. And the dogs usually love being groomed with them
-
Well I'm a party pooper and I would not recommend a Cavalier. They are bred to be companions and do best when they can fulfill that role. They love to be with their people.
-
Have you had both dogs since they were young? Has anything changed?

<OMG A Cavalier refusing food....that I can't wait to see!!! > I was going to say don't count on that bit but the others have told you Most of my girls have gone off their food but I did have one girl help me with my hamburger and then have her pups -
Yes it's usually a pretty simple op for the boys and I've never heard of needing to keep them confined for 14 days. So long as you keep the stitches clean and dry and he is not doing anything too strenuous I don't think you need to worry. I've always been told stitches out after 10 days?

Good Quality Cheap Weight Loss Kibble
Gretel replied to MooBoo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
MooBoo if she is hungry enough she will eat it -
Hi BS yes unless it is a large area that is not pigmented it should colour over as the pup grows. They are born with pink noses As far as the feeding bowls that is related to noses going off colour. Sometimes the nose will fade a bit to grey or brown. It is more usually caused by hormones.

Good Quality Cheap Weight Loss Kibble
Gretel replied to MooBoo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I've always found it easier to get weight off dogs by not feeding any dry food. I've had several porkers come for a visit and go home much slimmer after dieting on one or two chicken necks and veggies. Obviously mine are a lot smaller! -
Why do you want to breed?
-
I have an assortment of crates. More crates than dogs The airline crates are fine for transporting them and they can also sleep in them. If you are in a hot area you may prefer a wire crate. You can always put something over a wire one to make it more snug for them to sleep in.
-
Hi Allie My airline crates are out in the carport but I have one in here that is just a little smaller and it measures 60cm in length. You'd be best to wait till the pup grows a bit before buying a collar if you want it to fit as an adult. Just a small, soft one would be fine for a pup. Harness I imagine might be the same. What fits a pup isn't going to fit an adult. Beds they generally like snuggly Bowls - I like spaniel bowls. Crate? Do you mean you want two different ones or did I misunderstand? Why don't you pop into the Cavalier thread in general and ask people in there. I think more people go in there.

Another vote for the breeder. I have several I've bred come back for holidays They certainly don't forget their owners but they do like coming for a visit.
