I'd give them a gentle bath with baby shampoo rubbed in with a warm wet face washer. You'll have to pop in to the Cavalier thread and show us some pics!

< I liked the old frozen rolls that had to be banged on concrete to split up!> Yep me too! I find there is wastage cause you can't get all of the food out of the packaging now and the yucky packet to get rid of.

Pepper will be fine. One grape will cause no problems. Some dogs have eaten lots of grapes and been perfectly fine.

Have a look at this thread LM http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...&hl=PetFood

Yes it was the thread about that company that led me to ask if anyone had dealt with the one I was about to buy from. I have ordered now and been told that it has been sent so fingers crossed it's all good. It's a bit of a worry the first time.

Has anyone tried Best Value Pet Supplies? Their prices are good and I thought I'd give them a go..... http://www.bestvaluepetsupplies.com.au/use...35331_index.asp

Hi, I posted this in health as well but had no replies so thought I'd try here too Does anyone know of any eye clinics coming up in Sydney soon? The Cavalier club has one in April but I would like this girl checked sooner if possible. TIA.

Interesting thread - thank you I had a feeling wire crates weren't ideal for the car. Thanks Souff. Now looking at some bigger plastic crates cause Vienna is pretty snug in the one my Cavaliers fit well in and the only bigger ones I have are wire. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy bigger plastic crates? They are so dear!

Yes I was telling a friend about the food and how much the dogs like it. She was interested but only buys in small amounts. I tried to give her some to try but she wouldn't take it so I carefully measured out a couple of kilos and she bought it from me. If her's like it too we'll just split a bag next time.

Really? Is it a legal thing in NSW (that you can't buy green tripe for pets), or it's just not available? Chuckie500, the liver treats would be fine so long as they're just liver (some low quality "liver" treats contain weird things like sugar, flavours, colours, grains, etc) - check the packet. I don't think you can buy green tripe anywhere in Australia. Someone please feel free to let me know if I'm wrong?
-
Wow!! That's certainly a dramatic way to make a stand!! Indeed!! I didn't realise that you are not allowed to even feed cooked liver in Tassie. Staranais, we can't get green tripe here.
-
I just feed raw, Erny. I buy human grade offal. Do I need to worry? I've fed for years without any problems.
-
I'd give the Cavaliers (around 7-8 kilos in weight) one chicken liver each once or twice a week. Though we can go weeks and not have chicken liver. I tend to swap around quite a bit with meals. They might have some BARF patty instead.
-
I often buy chicken livers. They are a good size for smaller dogs without having to cut them up. And I had lambs fry the other night and the dogs shared it with me They have it once or twice a week. Not for the whole meal - just some added to their wings or necks.

Yes it will do him no harm at all. If he was hungry he would have eaten. As the others have said the more you pander to him the more picky he is going to get. A healthy pup will not starve itself. I've had quite a few Cavaliers come to stay and their owners have said they are picky eaters. Mostly they were fat and just not eating as much as the owners thought they should I'm sure your pup is not fat though.

I can catch or mulch with mine. When I'm feeling lazy it just gets mulched. It needs mowing so often in this weather. The girls do pick up a bit of grass in their coats but not too bad.

Thundershirt For Dogs With Fear/anxiety Etc

Well I'm afraid I have to report back that the Thundershirt didn't help with Vienna's carsickness  I was so hoping! Anyone want to buy a medium shirt, barely used? -

Well Vienna's thundershirt arrived today. It says to put it on them when they are not stressed for a little while to get them used to it. I think she rather likes it -

I've ordered one to try to help with Vienna's carsickness. I'd so love to be able to take her out more without her getting sick -
Yes I explained that to the previous owner. The problem has ocurred because they were picked up from me not the owner What can we do now?

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a bit of a problem. A dog I bred and his half brother came back to me for rehoming months ago. They were both chipped and lifetime registered. All paperwork went with the dogs to their new home. The previous owners had signed the change of ownership details on the forms. The old owner has received a call from the ranger telling him that he is going to be receiving fines for the dogs not being cleaned up after and being off lead. According to the ranger the dogs are still in the previous owner's name. The new owner says they transferred the dogs to their name as soon as they got them. Apparently the dogs were offlead in an on lead area when the ranger sprung them and the new owner's girlfriend says she gave her old address (trying to avoid the fine). If she has given a false address how has the ranger tracked them to the previous owner? Do the rangers carry a scanner? Obviously the previous owner is not too happy with this situation! Any suggestions on what we can do please?

<Third is - and this is very pessimistic - Victoria is the strongest state for Cavaliers - and to win, you need a dog which is pretty well up there, and whether this breeder is breeding dogs like that is another question. Not much fun to be showing and to be last.> This is very true, Jed. There are a couple of breeders in Sydney who regularly sell pups on main register as show dogs. They are of very poor quality and the buyers usually only attend a handful of shows and are never seen again.

Anyone got any idea if these may help with carsickness? Poor Vienna is not a good traveller. I bought a calm cap but she really does not like it and I haven't been good about getting her used to it.
