  1. Many years ago I desperately wanted a nice tri girl but somehow they ended up my least favourite colour. I think it's a lot to do with how I've bonded with the dogs over the years. Summer was very pretty but she wasn't awfully bright and she did drive me nutty My first Cavaliers were blenheim then a friend and I really wanted a wholecolour so we bought one together cause we were struggling for money a bit. We bought her sight unseen from interstate. It was love at first sight and she grew into beautiful Phoebe. Pretty rubies are just the most gorgeous of Cavaliers :p
  2. Yes she is my favourite, ILBB. That is Tally. On her left is Caspar who was the puppy who wanted a tummy rub He grew and grew! Mum, Summer, is the one lying down and Portia on the right. Tris are actually my least favourite. (sorry!)
  3. Can you guess my favourite? Is your boy desexed?
  4. Dogs are not designed to graze
  5. Is she actually swollen and bleeding or is he just trying to hump her?
  6. How often are you applying the Lacrilube and/or Viscotears? The thing is they will be helping soothe his eyes but it's just that. The other treatment is to try to improve the tear production. I'd be talking to the specialist again. My old girl, Gretel, was on Cyclosporine for about 18 months and her tear production improved dramatically and she no longer needed anything. Another girl I had as a baby pup didn't respond quite as well. One eye did and tear production was good but her other eye only improved a bit and she is on treatment and tear replacement for life.
  7. Oh dear poor fella Are you using some lubricant to ease the dryness as well as the other treatment? I think it was Genteal that I used for my old girl several times a day.
  8. My girls are doing well on it but I am a little concerned about the number of odd pieces of food that are in the second bag. The first bag was all the same but the second one has other food mixed through. Not a huge amount, I've probably found about 30 odd pieces. They are larger and round and square and a different colour. No one else seems to have had a problem? It is making me uhm and ah over ordering a third bag....
  9. Good idea - any know how gradually I should change over the food? Over 2-3 days ok? No it's better to feed a baby pup the same food for at least a week before making changes. It's enough of an upheavel going to a new home with lots of new things. Just check with the breeder though. My pups leave home with a bag of food that lasts a good while. Usually a couple of kilos.
  10. One of my girls used to love eating lemon grass when we visited a friend. I bought her some to have at home and it didn't get to grow big
  11. Okay thanks people It's a small breed.
  12. I know there is considerable debate on this subject. I've always understood that a bitch desexed before her first season is very unlikely to develop mammary tumours in the future. Has this theory gone out the window? A friend has told me the vet is suggesting her girl should have a season before the op.
  13. Yay! So, anyone eaten a piece themselves? No I've fought the urge
  14. :D oops! Sorry! I've had a bloodied knee from falling over on a slimy footpath and I was once knocked flying by my dog playing chicken with me when she didn't swerve in time. I went flying in front of a lot of golfers but managed to get up and walk away with great dignity (and blood running down my leg!).
  15. Mine are doing well on it. In the last bag there were several pieces of another type of food though? I emailed and told Kel about it but haven't had a reply. They were larger, square and a slightly reddish colour. Is this a different variety?
  16. Yes some pups and dogs do bark when they play. Some play quietly and some bark a lot! They are cuties
  17. A dog I used to look after has a very strange bark. Very hoarse and quieter than usual. If I didn't know his history I'd assume he was debarked. His owner has had him since he was a pup and that is just his bark. He is a bit of a barker so lucky he is a quieter one
  18. Running with a ball he won't be panting so that may contribute to over heating too. And with a run of hot days it knocks people about and I've noticed it's even slowed down one of my dogs quite a bit. Even when it's cooled down a bit.
  19. Poodiful off topic I know but that site you listed has a 'wonderful selection' of DD puppies available
